7 When they reached the border of Mysia, they tried to go into the province of Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them.

11 I know the plans that I have for you, says Jehovah. They are plans for peace and not disaster. They are plans to give you a future filled with hope.

1 A great cloud of witnesses surround us. Therefore let us lay aside every weight, and the sin that easily entangles us. Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.

31 Whether you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do everything to the glory of God.

5 If any of you lacks wisdom let him ask of God. He gives to all generously and without reproach and it will be given to him.

5 That night Jehovah appeared to him in a dream and asked him: »What do you want me to give you?«

6 Solomon answered: »You always showed great love for my father David, your servant. He was good, loyal, and honest in his relation with you. You have continued to show him your great and constant love by giving him a son who today rules in his place.

7 »O Jehovah God, you allowed me to succeed my father as king, even though I am very young and do not know how to rule.

8 »I am among the people you have chosen to be your own. They are a people who are so many that they cannot be counted.

9 Give me the wisdom I need to rule your people with justice. Help me know the difference between good and evil. Otherwise, how would I ever be able to rule this great people of yours?«

10 Jehovah was pleased that Solomon asked for this.

11 He said to him: »Because you have asked for the wisdom to rule justly, instead of long life for yourself or riches or the death of your enemies,

12 »I will do what you have asked. I will give you more wisdom and understanding than anyone has ever had. There has never been nor will ever be anyone like you.

5 Trust in Jehovah with all your heart. Do not lean on your own understanding.

6 In all your ways acknowledge recognize Him and He will make your paths straight.

14 The people fall where there is no counsel. Yes, the people fall but in the multitude of counselors there is safety.

1 There were prophets and teachers in the congregation at Antioch. This included: Barnabas, and Simeon called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

2 As they ministered to God, and fasted, the Holy Spirit said: »Set Barnabas and Saul apart for the work I have called them.«

3 After they fasted and prayed, they laid their hands on them and sent them away.

33 The lot is cast into the lap. But every decision is from Jehovah.

14 This is the confidence that we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

1 A man of solitude who keeps to himselfisolates himself seeks his own selfish desire. He objects to sound wisdom.

2 A fool stupid person does not like understanding when revealing his thoughts.

3 When the wicked comes contempt also comes. Dishonor brings reproach.

4 The words of a man's mouth are deep waters. It is like a flowing brook and a wellspring of wisdom.

5 It is not good to accept the wicked, to overthrow the righteous in judgment.

6 A fool's lips want to argue. His mouth calls for blows.

7 A fool's mouth is his ruin. His lips are the snares of his life.

8 The words of a talebearer cause wounds. They plunge down to the innermost parts.

9 He is lazy in his work. His brother destroys.

10 The name of Jehovah is a strong tower. The righteous runs into it for protection.

11 The rich man's wealth is his strong city. It is his high wall of vanity.

12 Before destruction the heart of man is prideful. Humility comes before honor and glory.

13 It is foolishness and shame to answer a matter before you hear it.

14 The spirit of a man will sustain him in sickness. So who can tolerate a wounded spirit?

17 Thus the man of God may be completely equipped for every good work.

9 His wife asked him: »Are you still holding on to your principles? Curse God and die!«

10 He said to her: »You are talking like a godless fool. We accept the good that God gives us. Should we not also accept the bad?« Through all this Job did not speak sinful words.

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
