58 Ao todo, os servidores do templo e os descendentes dos servos de Salomão eram 392.
59 Nessa ocasião, outro grupo regressou das cidades de Tel-Melá, Tel-Harsa, Querube, Adã e Imer. Contudo, não puderam comprovar que eles ou suas famílias eram descendentes de Israel. 60 Estavam nesse grupo as famílias de Delaías, Tobias e Necoda, 652 pessoas ao todo.
61 Também regressaram as famílias de três sacerdotes: Habaías, Hacoz e Barzilai. (Esse Barzilai havia se casado com uma mulher descendente de Barzilai, de Gileade, e assumido o nome da família dela.) 62 Procuraram seus nomes nos registros genealógicos, mas não os encontraram, por isso não se qualificaram para servir como sacerdotes. 63 O governador ordenou que não comessem das porções dos sacrifícios separadas para os sacerdotes até que um sacerdote consultasse o Senhor a esse respeito usando o Urim e o Tumim.
64 Portanto, os que regressaram para Judá foram 42.360, 65 além dos 7.337 servos e servas e dos 200 cantores e cantoras. 66 Levaram consigo 736 cavalos, 245 mulas, 67 435 camelos e 6.720 jumentos.
68 Quando chegaram ao templo do Senhor, em Jerusalém, alguns dos chefes das famílias entregaram ofertas voluntárias para a reconstrução do templo de Deus em seu local original. 69 Cada chefe contribuiu com o que pôde. Suas ofertas totalizaram 525 quilos de ouro, 3.000 quilos de prata e 100 vestes para os sacerdotes.
70 Assim, os sacerdotes, os levitas, os cantores, os guardas das portas, os servidores do templo e alguns do povo se estabeleceram em povoados perto de Jerusalém. O restante do povo regressou às suas cidades em todo o Israel.

55 The sons of Solomon's servants: the sons of Sotai, the sons of Hassophereth, the sons of Peruda,
56 the sons of Jaalah, the sons of Darkon, the sons of Giddel,
57 the sons of Shephatiah, the sons of Hattil, the sons of Pochereth-hazzebaim, the sons of Ami.
58 All the Nethinim and the sons of Solomon's servants were three hundred ninety-two.
59 And these were those who went up from Tel-melah, Tel-harsha, Cherub, Addan, [and] Immer, but they could not show their fathers' houses, and their seed, whether they were of Israel:
60 the sons of Delaiah, the sons of Tobiah, the sons of Nekoda, six hundred fifty and two.
61 And of the sons of the priests: the sons of Habaiah, the sons of Hakkoz, the sons of Barzillai who took a wife of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite, and was called after their name.
62 These sought their registration [among] those that were reckoned by genealogy, but they were not found. Therefore were they deemed polluted and put away from the priesthood.
63 And the governor said to them that they should not eat of the most holy things till there stood up a priest with Urim and with Thummim.
64 The whole assembly together was forty-two thousand three hundred and sixty,
65 besides their men-servants and their maid-servants, of whom there were seven thousand three hundred thirty-seven. And they had two hundred singing men and singing women.
66 Their horses were seven hundred thirty-six, their mules, two hundred forty-five,
67 their camels, four hundred thirty-five, [their] donkeys, six thousand seven hundred and twenty.
68 And some of the heads of fathers, when they came to the house of LORD which is in Jerusalem, offered willingly for the house of God to set it up in its place.
69 They gave after their ability into the treasury of the work sixty-one thousand darics of gold, and five thousand pounds of silver, and one hundred priests' garments.
70 So the priests, and the Levites, and some of the people, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nethinim, dwelt in their cities, and all Israel in their cities.
