1 As terras distribuídas por sorteio aos clãs da tribo de Judá se estendiam para o sul, até a divisa com Edom, e chegavam ao deserto de Zim, no extremo sul:
2 A divisa ao sul começava na extremidade sul do mar Morto, 3 seguia para o sul pela ladeira do Escorpião, passando pelo deserto de Zim e prosseguindo até Hezrom, ao sul de Cades-Barneia. Então subia até Adar e fazia uma curva em direção a Carca. 4 Dali passava por Azmom, continuava até o ribeiro do Egito e seguia até o mar Mediterrâneo. Essa era a divisa ao sul deles.
5 A divisa a leste se estendia ao longo do mar Morto até a foz do rio Jordão.
A divisa ao norte começava na extremidade onde o Jordão deságua no mar Morto, 6 subia dali para Bete-Hogla e continuava ao norte de Bete-Arabá, até a Pedra de Boã (Boã era filho de Rúben). 7 A partir desse ponto, passava pelo vale de Acor até Debir, fazendo uma curva para o norte, em direção a Gilgal, que ficava de frente ao desfiladeiro de Adumim, do lado sul do vale. Dali a divisa se estendia para as águas de En-Semes, até En-Rogel. 8 Depois passava pelo vale de Ben-Hinom, pela encosta sul dos jebuseus, onde fica a cidade de Jerusalém. Em seguida estendia-se para o oeste, até o alto do monte acima do vale de Hinom, e continuava até a extremidade norte do vale de Refaim. 9 A divisa prosseguia do alto do monte para a fonte nas águas de Neftoa, até as cidades do monte Efrom. Então fazia uma curva em direção a Baalá (isto é, Quiriate-Jearim). 10 Rodeava Baalá em direção ao oeste, até o monte Seir, passava pela cidade de Quesalom, na encosta norte do monte Jearim, descia a Bete-Semes e passava por Timna. 11 Depois a divisa continuava até a encosta do monte ao norte de Ecrom, onde fazia uma curva em direção a Sicrom e o monte Baalá. Passava por Jabneel e terminava no mar Mediterrâneo.
12 A divisa ocidental era o litoral do mar Mediterrâneo.
Essas são as divisas dos clãs da tribo de Judá.
13 Por ordem do Senhor, Josué designou uma porção no meio do território de Judá para Calebe, filho de Jefoné. Calebe recebeu a cidade de Quiriate-Arba (isto é, Hebrom), assim chamada por causa de Arba, um antepassado de Enaque. 14 Calebe expulsou três grupos de enaquins: os descendentes de Sesai, de Aimã e de Talmai, filhos de Enaque.
15 Dali ele partiu para lutar contra os habitantes da cidade de Debir (antes chamada de Quiriate-Sefer). 16 Calebe disse: "Darei minha filha Acsa em casamento a quem atacar e tomar Quiriate-Sefer". 17 Otoniel, filho de Quenaz, irmão de Calebe, tomou a cidade, e Calebe lhe deu Acsa como esposa.
18 Quando Acsa se casou com Otoniel, ela insistiu para que ele pedisse um campo ao pai dela. Assim que ela desceu do jumento, Calebe lhe perguntou: "O que você quer?".
19 Ela respondeu: "Quero mais um presente. O senhor me deu terras no deserto do Neguebe; agora, peço que também me dê fontes de água". Então Calebe lhe deu as fontes superiores e as fontes inferiores.
20 Esta foi a herança designada aos clãs da tribo de Judá:
21 As cidades de Judá situadas ao longo da divisa com Edom, no extremo sul, eram: Cabzeel, Éder, Jagur, 22 Quiná, Dimona, Adada, 23 Quedes, Hazor, Itnã, 24 Zife, Telém, Bealote, 25 Hazor-Hadata, Queriote-Hezrom (isto é, Hazor), 26 Amã, Sema, Moladá, 27 Hazar-Gada, Hesmom, Bete-Pelete, 28 Hazar-Sual, Berseba, Biziotiá, 29 Baalá, Iim, Azém, 30 Eltolade, Quesil, Hormá, 31 Ziclague, Madmana, Sansana, 32 Lebaote, Silim, Aim e Rimom; ao todo, 29 cidades com os povoados ao redor.
33 As seguintes cidades situadas nas colinas do oeste também foram entregues a Judá: Estaol, Zorá, Asná, 34 Zanoa, En-Ganim, Tapua, Enã, 35 Jarmute, Adulão, Socó, Azeca, 36 Saaraim, Aditaim, Gederá e Gederotaim; catorze cidades com os povoados ao redor.
37 Também foram incluídas: Zenã, Hadasa, Migdal-Gade, 38 Dileã, Mispá, Jocteel, 39 Laquis, Bozcate, Eglom, 40 Cabom, Laamás, Quitlis, 41 Gederote, Bete-Dagom, Naamá e Maquedá; dezesseis cidades com os povoados ao redor.
42 Além dessas, também foram entregues: Libna, Eter, Asã, 43 Iftá, Asná, Nezibe, 44 Queila, Aczibe e Maressa; nove cidades com os povoados ao redor.
45 O território da tribo de Judá abrangia, ainda, Ecrom com os assentamentos e povoados ao redor. 46 De Ecrom, a divisa se estendia para o oeste, e incluía as cidades perto de Asdode, com os povoados ao redor. 47 Também incluía Asdode, com os assentamentos e povoados ao redor, e Gaza, com os assentamentos e povoados ao redor, até o ribeiro do Egito, e ao longo do litoral do mar Mediterrâneo.
48 Judá também recebeu estas cidades na região montanhosa: Samir, Jatir, Socó, 49 Daná, Quiriate-Sana (isto é, Debir), 50 Anabe, Estemo, Anim, 51 Gósen, Holom e Gilo; onze cidades com os povoados ao redor.
52 Foram incluídas ainda: Arabe, Dumá, Esã, 53 Janim, Bete-Tapua, Afeca, 54 Hunta, Quiriate-Arba (isto é, Hebrom), e Zior; nove cidades com os povoados ao seu redor.
55 Além destas, também foram entregues: Maom, Carmelo, Zife, Jutá, 56 Jezreel, Jocdeão, Zanoa, 57 Caim, Gibeá e Timna; dez cidades com os povoados ao redor.
58 E ainda: Halul, Bete-Zur, Gedor, 59 Maarate, Bete-Anote e Eltecom; seis cidades com os povoados ao redor.
60 Também: Quiriate-Baal (isto é, Quiriate-Jearim), e Rabá; duas cidades com os povoados ao redor.
61 No deserto ficavam: Bete-Arabá, Midim, Secacá, 62 Nibsã, a Cidade do Sal e En-Gedi; seis cidades com os povoados ao redor.
63 Contudo, a tribo de Judá não conseguiu expulsar os jebuseus, que habitavam em Jerusalém, de modo que os jebuseus vivem até hoje no meio de Judá.
1 And the lot for the tribe of the sons of Judah according to their families was to the border of Edom, even to the wilderness of Zin southward, at the outermost part of the south.
2 And their south border was from the outermost part of the Salt Sea, from the bay that looks southward.
3 And it went out southward of the ascent of Akrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and went up by the south of Kadesh-barnea, and passed along by Hezron, and went up to Addar, and turned about to Karka,
4 and it passed along to Azmon, and went out at the brook of Egypt. And the goings out of the border were at the sea. This shall be your south border.
5 And the east border was the Salt Sea, even to the end of the Jordan. And the border of the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the end of the Jordan,
6 and the border went up to Beth-hoglah, and passed along by the north of Beth-arabah, and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben,
7 and the border went up to Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is opposite the ascent of Adummim, which is on the south side of the river, and the border passed along to the waters of En-she
8 and the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom to the side of the Jebusite southward (the same is Jerusalem), and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lays before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at
9 and the border extended from the top of the mountain to the fountain of the waters of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron, and the border extended to Baalah (the same is Kiriath-jearim),
10 and the border turned about from Baalah westward to mount Seir, and passed along to the side of mount Jearim on the north (the same is Chesalon), and went down to Beth-shemesh, and passed along by Timnah,
11 and the border went out to the side of Ekron northward, and the border extended to Shikkeron, and passed along to mount Baalah, and went out at Jabneel. And the goings out of the border were at the sea.
12 And the west border was to the great sea, and the border [of it]. This is the border of the sons of Judah round about according to their families.
13 And to Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a portion among the sons of Judah, according to the commandment of LORD to Joshua, even Kiriath-arba. [Arba was] the father of Anak (the same is Hebron).
14 And Caleb drove out from there the three sons of Anak: Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.
15 And he went up from there against the inhabitants of Debir. Now the name of Debir formerly was Kiriath-sepher.
16 And Caleb said, He who smites Kiriath-sepher, and takes it, to him I will give Achsah my daughter to wife.
17 And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it, and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.
18 And it came to pass, when she came, that she moved him to ask of her father a field. And she alighted from off her donkey, and Caleb said, What would thou?
19 And she said, Give me a blessing, because thou have set me in the land of the South, give me also springs of water. And he gave her the upper springs and the nether springs.
20 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Judah according to their families.
21 And the outermost cities of the tribe of the sons of Judah toward the border of Edom in the South were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur,
22 and Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah,
23 and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Ithnan,
24 Ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth,
25 and Hazor-hadattah, and Kerioth-hezron (the same is Hazor),
26 Amam, and Shema, and Moladah,
27 and Hazar-gaddah, and Heshmon, and Beth-pelet,
28 and Hazar-shual, and Beersheba, and Biziothiah,
29 Baalah, and Iim, and Ezem,
30 and Eltolad, and Chesil, and Hormah,
31 and Ziklag, and Madmannah, and Sansannah,
32 and Lebaoth, and Shilhim, and Ain, and Rimmon. All the cities are twenty-nine, with their villages.
33 In the lowland, Eshtaol, and Zorah, and Ashnah,
34 and Zanoah, and En-gannim, Tappuah, and Enam,
35 Jarmuth, and Adullam, Socoh, and Azekah,
36 and Shaaraim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, and Gederothaim; fourteen cities with their villages.
37 Zenan, and Hadashah, and Migdal-gad,
38 and Dilean, and Mizpeh, and Joktheel,
39 Lachish, and Bozkath, and Eglon,
40 and Cabbon, and Lahmam, and Chitlish,
41 and Gederoth, Beth-dagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah; sixteen cities with their villages.
42 Libnah, and Ether, and Ashan,
43 and Iphtah, and Ashnah, and Nezib,
44 and Keilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah; nine cities with their villages.
45 Ekron, with its towns and its villages,
46 from Ekron even to the sea, all that were by the side of Ashdod, with their villages.
47 Ashdod, its towns and its villages, Gaza, its towns and its villages, to the brook of Egypt, and the great sea, and the border [of it].
48 And in the hill-country, Shamir, and Jattir, and Socoh,
49 and Dannah, and Kiriath-sannah (the same is Debir),
50 and Anab, and Eshtemoh, and Anim,
51 and Goshen, and Holon, and Giloh; eleven cities with their villages.
52 Arab, and Dumah, and Eshan,
53 and Janim, and Beth-tappuah, and Aphekah,
54 and Humtah, and Kiriath-arba (the same is Hebron), and Zior; nine cities with their villages.
55 Maon, Carmel, and Ziph, and Jutah,
56 and Jezreel, and Jokdeam, and Zanoah,
57 Kain, Gibeah, and Timnah; ten cities with their villages.
58 Halhul, Beth-zur, and Gedor,
59 and Maarath, and Beth-anoth, and Eltekon; six cities with their villages.
60 Kiriath-baal (the same is Kiriath-jearim), and Rabbah; two cities with their villages.
61 In the wilderness, Beth-arabah, Middin, and Secacah,
62 and Nibshan, and the City of Salt, and En-gedi; six cities with their villages.
63 And as for the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the sons of Judah could not drive them out, but the Jebusites dwell with the sons of Judah at Jerusalem to this day.
