1 Ó Senhor, livra-me dos perversos;

protege-me dos violentos,

2 dos que tramam o mal em seu coração

e provocam tumultos o tempo todo.

3 Sua língua fere como uma serpente;

veneno de víbora goteja de seus lábios.

ouve, Senhor, as minhas súplicas.

7 Ó Soberano Senhor,

meu salvador poderoso,

tu me protegeste no dia da batalha.

8 Senhor, não dês aos perversos o que desejam;

não permitas que seus planos maldosos tenham sucesso,

para que não se encham de orgulho.

9 Sejam destruídos meus inimigos

pelo mesmo mal que tramaram contra mim.

10 Caiam sobre eles brasas ardentes;

sejam atirados no fogo,

ou em poços fundos de onde não poderão escapar.

11 Não permitas que os mentirosos prosperem em nossa terra;

derrama a calamidade sobre os violentos.

12 Sei, porém, que o Senhor defenderá a causa dos aflitos;

ele fará justiça aos pobres.

13 Certamente os justos louvarão teu nome;

os íntegros viverão em tua presença.

1 Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man. Preserve me from the violent man,

2 [and men] who devise mischievous things in their heart. They gather themselves continually together for war.

3 They have sharpened their tongue like a serpent. Adders' poison is under their lips. Selah.

4 Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of a wicked man. Preserve me from violent men, who have purposed to thrust aside my steps.

5 The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords. They have spread a net by the wayside. They have set snares for me. Selah.

6 I said to LORD, Thou are my God. Give ear to the voice of my supplications, O LORD.

7 O lord LORD, the strength of my salvation, thou have covered my head in the day of battle.

8 Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked man. Do not further his evil device. They exalt themselves. Selah.

9 As for the head of those who encompass me around, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.

10 Let burning coals fall upon them. Let them be cast into the fire, into deep pits, from where they shall not rise.

11 An evil speaker shall not be established in the earth. Evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.

12 I know that LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted man, and justice for the needy.

13 Surely the righteous shall give thanks to thy name. The upright shall dwell in thy presence.
