Leaving that place, Jesus went into the borders of Tyre. He entered a house and did not wish any one to know it, but he could not escape notice.
At once a woman whose daughter was afflicted by an impure spirit heard about him, and she came and fell at his feet.
The woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by race. She begged him to cast the demon out of her daughter.
But he said, "Let the children be well fed first. For it is not right to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs."
She answered, "Yes, Sir, even the dogs under the table eat from the children's crumbs."
Then he said to her, "For this answer, go. The demon has gone out of your daughter."
She returned to her house and found the child lying on the bed and the demon gone.
