30 The angel said to her, "Do not fear, Mary; for you have found favor with God.
31 You will conceive in your womb and will bear a son, and you must call his name Jesus.
32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Highest, and the Lord God will give him the throne of his father David.
33 He will be king over the house of Jacob through the ages, and of his kingdom there will be no end."
37 Pilate said to him, "Are you not a king then?" Jesus answered, "I am a king, as you say. For this I was born and for this I have come into the world, to bear witness to the truth. Every one who is of the truth listens to my voice."
5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,
6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not think that equality with God was something to be grasped,
7 but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant and coming into the likeness of men,
8 and when found in the condition of a man he humbled himself by becoming obedient even to death \'97 death on the cross.
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son that every one who believes in him may not perish, but have life eternal.
4 Joseph went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judaea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David,
5 to be registered with Mary who was betrothed to him, and was with child.
6 While they were there, her time came
7 and she gave birth to her son, her first-born, and she wrapped him up and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
20 But while he was thinking this over, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for what has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
21 She will bear a son and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins."
22 All this happened in fulfillment of what the Lord had spoken through the prophet:
23 "Behold the virgin will conceive and will bear a son, and they will call his name Immanuel" which means, God is with us.
24 When Joseph awoke from sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took his wife to his home.
25 But he did not live with her as a husband until she had borne a son. He called his name Jesus.
14 Since then the children share in blood and flesh, he himself in the same way shared in them, in order that through death he might defeat him who had the power of death, that is, the Devil,
15 and set free all those who through fear of death were all their lives doomed to slavery.
17 And for that reason he had to be made like his brethren in everything, so as to be a compassionate and faithful high priest in things relating to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.
15 When the angels went away into heaven, the shepherds spoke to one another: "Let us go to Bethlehem and see this that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us."
16 So they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the babe lying in the manger.
17 When they saw it, they told what had been spoken to them about this child.
18 All who heard it wondered at what was said to them by the shepherds.
9 After hearing the king, they journeyed on, and the star which they had seen in the East went before them until it came and stood over where the child was.
10 When they saw the star, they were very joyful.
11 They entered the house and saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and did him homage. Then they opened their treasures and presented to him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh.
12 After this they were warned in a dream not to return to Herod, and so went by another mad back to their own country.
18 The birth of Jesus was in this way: His mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, but before they came together she was found to be with child by the Holy Spirit.
4 but, when the fullness of time came, God sent forth his Son born of a woman, born under the Law,
5 that he might redeem those who were under Law, that we might receive the recognition as sons.
10 but the angel said to them, "Have no fear! Indeed, I am bringing you good news of a great joy which is to be for all the people;
11 for there was born for you to-day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ and Lord.
12 This will be a sign for you: you will find the babe wrapped up and lying in a manger."
