24 "Every one then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house upon the rock;
10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.
13 Keep hold of instruction, do not let go; guard her, for she is your life.
14 Do not enter the path of the wicked, and do not walk in the way of evil men.
16 All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,
17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
17 Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching;
18 for the scripture says, "You shall not muzzle an ox when it is treading out the grain," and, "The laborer deserves his wages."
8 Hear, my son, your father's instruction, and reject not your mother's teaching;
9 for they are a fair garland for your head, and pendants for your neck.
20 My son, keep your father's commandment, and forsake not your mother's teaching.
21 Bind them upon your heart always; tie them about your neck.
22 When you walk, they will lead you; when you lie down, they will watch over you; and when you awake, they will talk with you.
23 For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching a light, and the reproofs of discipline are the way of life,
4 For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that by steadfastness and by the encouragement of the scriptures we might have hope.
1 A Maskil of Asaph.
2 Give ear, O my people, to my teaching; incline your ears to the words of my mouth!
3 I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings from of old,
4 things that we have heard and known, that our fathers have told us.
14 The teaching of the wise is a fountain of life, that one may avoid the snares of death.
16 Avoid such godless chatter, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness,
17 and their talk will eat its way like gangrene. Among them are Hymenae'us and Phile'tus,
5 do not forget, and do not turn away from the words of my mouth. Get wisdom; get insight.
6 Do not forsake her, and she will keep you; love her, and she will guard you.
7 The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom, and whatever you get, get insight.
8 Prize her highly, and she will exalt you; she will honor you if you embrace her.
5 and you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.
6 And these words which I command you this day shall be upon your heart;
7 and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
23 Keep your heart with all vigilance; for from it flow the springs of life.
24 Put away from you crooked speech, and put devious talk far from you.
25 Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you.
26 Take heed to the path of your feet, then all your ways will be sure.
27 Do not swerve to the right or to the left; turn your foot away from evil.
14 About the middle of the feast Jesus went up into the temple and taught.
15 The Jews marveled at it, saying, "How is it that this man has learning, when he has never studied?"
16 So Jesus answered them, "My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me;
17 if any man's will is to do his will, he shall know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority.
18 He who speaks on his own authority seeks his own glory; but he who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and in him there is no falsehood.
1 The proverbs of Solomon, son of David, king of Israel:
2 That men may know wisdom and instruction, understand words of insight,
3 receive instruction in wise dealing, righteousness, justice, and equity;
4 that prudence may be given to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the youth--
5 the wise man also may hear and increase in learning, and the man of understanding acquire skill,
6 to understand a proverb and a figure, the words of the wise and their riddles.
7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.
10 And all that generation also were gathered to their fathers; and there arose another generation after them, who did not know the LORD or the work which he had done for Israel.
9 Any one who goes ahead and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God; he who abides in the doctrine has both the Father and the Son.
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teach and admonish one another in all wisdom, and sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
