15 The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a child left to himself brings shame to his mother.
15 "Whoever strikes his father or his mother shall be put to death.
20 My son, keep your father's commandment, and forsake not your mother's teaching.
21 Bind them upon your heart always; tie them about your neck.
22 When you walk, they will lead you; when you lie down, they will watch over you; and when you awake, they will talk with you.
23 For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching a light, and the reproofs of discipline are the way of life,
1 A wise son hears his father's instruction, but a scoffer does not listen to rebuke.
16 "Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God commanded you; that your days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with you, in the land which the LORD your God gives you.
1 Hear, O sons, a father's instruction, and be attentive, that you may gain insight;
2 for I give you good precepts: do not forsake my teaching.
3 When I was a son with my father, tender, the only one in the sight of my mother,
4 he taught me, and said to me, "Let your heart hold fast my words; keep my commandments, and live;
5 do not forget, and do not turn away from the words of my mouth. Get wisdom; get insight.
6 Do not forsake her, and she will keep you; love her, and she will guard you.
1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
2 "Honor your father and mother" (this is the first commandment with a promise),
3 "that it may be well with you and that you may live long on the earth."
4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
17 The eye that mocks a father and scorns to obey a mother will be picked out by the ravens of the valley and eaten by the vultures.
20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.
12 "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which the LORD your God gives you.
8 Hear, my son, your father's instruction, and reject not your mother's teaching;
9 for they are a fair garland for your head, and pendants for your neck.
18 "If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son, who will not obey the voice of his father or the voice of his mother, and, though they chastise him, will not give heed to them,
19 then his father and his mother shall take hold of him and bring him out to the elders of his city at the gate of the place where he lives,
20 and they shall say to the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton and a drunkard.'
21 Then all the men of the city shall stone him to death with stones; so you shall purge the evil from your midst; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.
4 For God commanded, Honor your father and your mother,' and, He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him surely die.'
6 Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.
4 If a widow has children or grandchildren, let them first learn their religious duty to their own family and make some return to their parents; for this is acceptable in the sight of God.
