12 But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God;
19 For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God;
7 A righteous man who walks in his integrity-- blessed are his sons after him!
5 A fool despises his father's instruction, but he who heeds admonition is prudent.
1 At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?"
2 And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them,
3 and said, "Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
4 Whoever humbles himself like this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
31 And they said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household."
25 A foolish son is a grief to his father and bitterness to her who bore him.
8 Hear, my son, your father's instruction, and reject not your mother's teaching;
9 for they are a fair garland for your head, and pendants for your neck.
32 And now, my sons, listen to me: happy are those who keep my ways.
33 Hear instruction and be wise, and do not neglect it.
7 He who keeps the law is a wise son, but a companion of gluttons shames his father.
13 And they were bringing children to him, that he might touch them; and the disciples rebuked them.
14 But when Jesus saw it he was indignant, and said to them, "Let the children come to me, do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of God.
15 Folly is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline drives it far from him.
21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols.
24 He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him.
4 He must manage his own household well, keeping his children submissive and respectful in every way;
25 At that time Jesus declared, "I thank thee, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to babes;
40 Therefore you shall keep his statutes and his commandments, which I command you this day, that it may go well with you, and with your children after you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which the LORD your God gives you for ever."
20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.
5 And have you forgotten the exhortation which addresses you as sons?-- "My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor lose courage when you are punished by him.
6 For the Lord disciplines him whom he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives."
7 It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline?
8 If you are left without discipline, in which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons.
9 Besides this, we have had earthly fathers to discipline us and we respected them. Shall we not much more be subject to the Father of spirits and live?
2 Beloved, we are God's children now; it does not yet appear what we shall be, but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.
3 And every one who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.
1 A wise son hears his father's instruction, but a scoffer does not listen to rebuke.
16 it is the Spirit himself bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God,
19 The living, the living, he thanks thee, as I do this day; the father makes known to the children thy faithfulness.
6 Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.
10 "See that you do not despise one of these little ones; for I tell you that in heaven their angels always behold the face of my Father who is in heaven.
6 And these words which I command you this day shall be upon your heart;
7 and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
1 My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments;
2 for length of days and years of life and abundant welfare will they give you.
22 So shun youthful passions and aim at righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call upon the Lord from a pure heart.
4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
26 He who does violence to his father and chases away his mother is a son who causes shame and brings reproach.
13 All your sons shall be taught by the LORD, and great shall be the prosperity of your sons.
26 for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith.
27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
6 Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.
2 and what you have heard from me before many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
12 Rescue me from the cruel sword, and deliver me from the hand of aliens, whose mouths speak lies, and whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood.
6 Grandchildren are the crown of the aged, and the glory of sons is their fathers.
1 Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity than a man who is perverse in speech, and is a fool.
15 For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the spirit of sonship. When we cry, "Abba! Father!"
20 A wise son makes a glad father, but a foolish man despises his mother.
11 Even a child makes himself known by his acts, whether what he does is pure and right.
14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
14 but Jesus said, "Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven."
3 It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.
15 Folly is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline drives it far from him.
1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
2 "Honor your father and mother" (this is the first commandment with a promise),
3 "that it may be well with you and that you may live long on the earth."
52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature, and in favor with God and man.
11 For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant; later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
9 "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
13 All your sons shall be taught by the LORD, and great shall be the prosperity of your sons.
15 "Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you.
16 Behold, I have graven you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me.
4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
1 Now the boy Samuel was ministering to the LORD under Eli. And the word of the LORD was rare in those days; there was no frequent vision.
12 for the LORD reproves him whom he loves, as a father the son in whom he delights.
11 The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.
28 Be careful to heed all these words which I command you, that it may go well with you and with your children after you for ever, when you do what is good and right in the sight of the LORD your God.
6 Grandchildren are the crown of the aged, and the glory of sons is their fathers.
15 The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a child left to himself brings shame to his mother.
14 And I looked, and arose, and said to the nobles and to the officials and to the rest of the people, "Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your homes."
22 Hearken to your father who begot you, and do not despise your mother when she is old.
23 Buy truth, and do not sell it; buy wisdom, instruction, and understanding.
14 but Jesus said, "Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven."
12 I am writing to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven for his sake.
46 he said to them, "Lay to heart all the words which I enjoin upon you this day, that you may command them to your children, that they may be careful to do all the words of this law.
47 For it is no trifle for you, but it is your life, and thereby you shall live long in the land which you are going over the Jordan to possess."
4 he taught me, and said to me, "Let your heart hold fast my words; keep my commandments, and live;
5 do not forget, and do not turn away from the words of my mouth. Get wisdom; get insight.
13 Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you beat him with a rod, he will not die.
9 How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to thy word.
15 When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord; you know that I love you." He said to him, "Feed my lambs."
7 and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
1 My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments;
6 Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.
4 No greater joy can I have than this, to hear that my children follow the truth.
1 See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
4 No greater joy can I have than this, to hear that my children follow the truth.
21 Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged.
3 and said, "Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
4 Whoever humbles himself like this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
5 "Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me;
9 How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to thy word.
8 If any one does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his own family, he has disowned the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
36 And he took a child, and put him in the midst of them; and taking him in his arms, he said to them,
37 "Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me; and whoever receives me, receives not me but him who sent me."
1 Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children.
