3 It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.
4 Lo, sons are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward.
5 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the sons of one's youth. [ (Psalms 127:6) Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate. ]
20 And he arose and came to his father. But while he was yet at a distance, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.
21 And the son said to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you; I am no longer worthy to be called your son.'
22 But the father said to his servants, Bring quickly the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet;
23 and bring the fatted calf and kill it, and let us eat and make merry;
13 Be watchful, stand firm in your faith, be courageous, be strong.
15 And if you be unwilling to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell; but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."
24 The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice; he who begets a wise son will be glad in him.
7 A righteous man who walks in his integrity-- blessed are his sons after him!
26 In the fear of the LORD one has strong confidence, and his children will have a refuge.
24 He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him.
6 Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.
12 "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which the LORD your God gives you.
