3 He reflects the glory of God and bears the very stamp of his nature, upholding the universe by his word of power. When he had made purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all iniquity and to purify for himself a people of his own who are zealous for good deeds.
21 Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a clear conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
1 Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, and make holiness perfect in the fear of God.
16 And now why do you wait? Rise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on his name.'
8 Draw near to God and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you men of double mind.
10 Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities.
20 For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, fornication, theft, murder, adultery,
21 coveting, wickedness, deceit, licentiousness, envy, slander, pride, foolishness.
22 All these evil things come from within, and they defile a man."
23 And from there he arose and went away to the region of Tyre and Sidon. And he entered a house, and would not have any one know it; yet he could not be hid.
2 Beloved, we are God's children now; it does not yet appear what we shall be, but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.
3 And every one who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
16 Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean; remove the evil of your doings from before my eyes; cease to do evil,
14 how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify your conscience from dead works to serve the living God.
25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her,
26 that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word,
1 To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came to him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.
2 Have mercy on me, O God, according to thy steadfast love; according to thy abundant mercy blot out my transgressions.
3 You are already made clean by the word which I have spoken to you.
7 but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
