51 Verily, verily, I say to you, If a man shall keep my saying, he shall never see death.
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
3 And he humbled thee, and allowed thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.
35 Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath held me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great. thy gentleness…: or, with thy meekness thou hast multiplied me
36 Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip. my feet: Heb. mine ankles
89 LAMED. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.
8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate in it day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written in it: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. have…: or, do wisely
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
130 The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding to the simple.
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished to all good works. throughly…: or, perfected
4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
11 Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee.
1 A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.
3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken to you.
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
12 For the word of God is living, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
28 But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.
20 A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.
21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit of it.
22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23 For if any is a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like a man beholding his natural face in a mirror:
24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth away, and immediately forgetteth what manner of man he was.
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
31 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
22 When therefore he had risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this to them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had spoken.
4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
24 Therefore whoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him to a wise man, who built his house upon a rock:
38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his heart shall flow rivers of living water.
18 There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.
25 Heaviness in the heart of man weigheth it down: but a good word maketh it glad.
36 And they were all amazed, and spoke among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
9 BETH. How shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed to it according to thy word.
6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
3 Behold, we put bits in the horses’ mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.
4 Behold also the ships, which though they are so great, and are driven by fierce winds, yet they are turned about with a very small helm, wherever the pilot willeth.
5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! a matter: or, wood
6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire from hell. course: Gr. wheel
7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of creatures in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed by mankind: kind: Gr. naturemankind: Gr. nature of man
8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
36 But I say to you, That for every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account for it in the day of judgment.
37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
4 For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.
8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews who believed on him, If ye continue in my word, ye are my disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield to them that put their trust in him. pure: Heb. purified
34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
29 Is not my word like a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?
1 If there is therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion,
2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than themselves.
4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient to death, even the death of the cross. fashion: or habit
9 Therefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things on earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
12 Therefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
13 For it is God who worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; harmless: or, sincereye shine: or, shine ye
16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.
17 Yea, and if I am offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all. offered: Gr. poured forth
18 For the same cause also do ye joy, and rejoice with me.
19 But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy shortly to you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state. But: or, Moreover
20 For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state. likeminded: or, so dear unto me
21 For all seek their own, not the things of Jesus Christ.
22 But ye know the proof of him, that, as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the gospel.
23 Him therefore I hope to send presently, so soon as I shall see how it will go with me.
24 But I trust in the Lord that I also myself shall come shortly.
25 Yet I thought it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labour, and fellowsoldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants.
26 For he longed after you all, and was full of heaviness, because ye had heard that he was sick.
27 For indeed he was sick near to death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.
28 I sent him therefore the more eagerly, that, when ye see him again, ye may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful. carefully: or, with more anxious care
29 Receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness; and hold such in reputation: hold…: or, honour such
30 Because for the work of Christ he was near to death, not regarding his life, to supply the want of your service toward me.
41 And many more believed because of his own word;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thy heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth to righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made to salvation.
22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
2 As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that ye may grow by it:
23 Jesus answered and said to him, If a man loveth me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our abode with him.
11 The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
105 NUN. Thy word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path. lamp: or, candle
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews who believed on him, If ye continue in my word, ye are my disciples indeed;
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished to all good works. throughly…: or, perfected
24 Verily, verily, I say to you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but hath passed from death to life.
4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
105 NUN. Thy word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path. lamp: or, candle
6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
30 As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him. tried: or, refined
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
12 For the word of God is living, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.
4 For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.
16 Thy words were found, and I ate them; and thy word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts. I am…: Heb. thy name is called upon me
4 In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do to me.
12 What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?
13 Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.
2 For in many things we all offend. If any man stumble not in word, the same is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body.
35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
160 Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever. Thy word…: Heb. The beginning of thy word is true
21 Therefore put away all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
