1 So soll man uns betrachten: als Christi Diener und Verwalter göttlicher Geheimnisse.

2 Im übrigen wird von Verwaltern nur verlangt, daß einer treu erfunden werde.

3 Mir aber ist es das Geringste, daß ich von euch oder von einem menschlichen Gerichtstage beurteilt werde; auch beurteile ich mich nicht selbst.

4 Denn ich bin mir nichts bewußt; aber damit bin ich nicht gerechtfertigt, sondern der Herr ist es, der mich beurteilt.

5 Darum richtet nichts vor der Zeit, bis der Herr kommt, welcher auch das im Finstern Verborgene ans Licht bringen und den Rat der Herzen offenbaren wird; und dann wird einem jeden das Lob von Gott zuteil werden.

6 Das aber, meine Brüder, habe ich auf mich und Apollos bezogen, damit ihr an uns lernet, nicht über das hinauszugehen, was geschrieben steht, damit ihr euch nicht für den einen auf Kosten des andern aufblähet.

7 Denn wer gibt dir den Vorzug? Was besitzest du aber, das du nicht empfangen hast? Wenn du es aber empfangen hast, was rühmst du dich, wie wenn du es nicht empfangen hättest?

8 Ihr seid schon satt geworden, ihr seid schon reich geworden, ihr herrschet ohne uns! Möchtet ihr wenigstens so herrschen, daß auch wir mit euch herrschen könnten!

9 Es dünkt mich nämlich, Gott habe uns Apostel als die Letzten hingestellt, gleichsam zum Tode bestimmt; denn wir sind ein Schauspiel geworden der Welt, sowohl Engeln als Menschen.

10 Wir sind Narren um Christi willen, ihr aber seid klug in Christus; wir schwach, ihr aber stark; ihr in Ehren, wir aber verachtet.

11 Bis auf diese Stunde leiden wir Hunger, Durst und Blöße, werden geschlagen und haben keine Bleibe und arbeiten mühsam mit unsern eigenen Händen.

12 Wir werden geschmäht und segnen, wir leiden Verfolgung und halten stand; wir werden gelästert und spenden Trost;

13 zum Auswurf der Welt sind wir geworden, zum Abschaum aller bis jetzt.

14 Nicht zu eurer Beschämung schreibe ich das, sondern ich ermahne euch als meine geliebten Kinder.

15 Denn wenn ihr auch zehntausend Erzieher hättet in Christus, so habt ihr doch nicht viele Väter; denn ich habe euch in Christus Jesus durch das Evangelium gezeugt.

16 So ermahne ich euch nun: Werdet meine Nachahmer!

17 Deshalb habe ich Timotheus zu euch gesandt, der mein geliebter und treuer Sohn im Herrn ist; der wird euch an meine Wege in Christus erinnern, wie ich allenthalben in jeder Gemeinde lehre.

18 Weil ich aber nicht selbst zu euch komme, haben sich etliche aufgebläht;

19 ich werde aber bald zu euch kommen, so der Herr will, und Kenntnis nehmen, nicht von den Worten der Aufgeblähten, sondern von der Kraft.

20 Denn das Reich Gottes besteht nicht in Worten, sondern in Kraft!

21 Was wollt ihr? Soll ich mit der Rute zu euch kommen, oder mit Liebe und dem Geiste der Sanftmut?

6 Na ko enei mea, e oku teina, naku i huri mai te ahua ki a maua ko Aporo, he whakaaro ki a koutou: kia ai maua hei whakaako i a koutou, kia kaua te whakaaro e hipa atu i te mea i tuhituhia; kia kaua tetahi o koutou e whakapehapeha mo tetahi ki run ga atu i tetahi.

7 Ko wai kei te mea kia rere ke koe? ko tehea mea hoki au ehara i te mea hoatu ki a koe? Na he mea i hoatu ki a koe, he aha koe ka whakamanamana ai, me te mea nei ehara i te mea hoatu?

8 Kua makona ke na hoki koutou, kua hua ke o koutou taonga, kua kingi koutou ahakoa motu mai matou: ae ra, e pai ana ki ahau kia kingi tonu koutou, kia kingi tahi ai tatou.

9 Ki toku whakaaro hoki kua waiho matou, nga apotoro, e te Atua mo muri rawa, ano he hunga mo te mate: kua meinga hoki matou hei matakitakinga ma te ao, ma nga anahera, a ma nga tangata.

10 Ko matou he kuware mo ta te Karaiti, ko koutou ia he hunga whai whakaaro i roto i a te Karaiti; ko matou he ngoikore, ko koutou ia he hunga kaha; to koutou he kororia, to matou ia he honorekore.

11 Tae tonu mai ki tenei haora nei e matekai ana matou, e matewai ana, e haere tahanga ana, e kurua ana, kahore hoki o matou kainga tumau:

12 E mauiui ana matou, ko o matou ringa ake hei mahi: e taunutia ana, manaaki tonu matou; e whakatoia ana, whakaririka kau matou:

13 Ka korerotia kinotia, ka whakangawari atu matou: kua meinga matou kia rite ki te paru rukenga o te ao, ki te para o nga mea katoa, taea noatia tenei ra.

16 Koia ahau ka tohe nei ki a koutou, kia rite ta koutou ki taku.

17 Na reira i tonoa atu ai e ahau ki a koutou a Timoti, taku tama aroha, tama pono i roto i te Ariki, mana koutou e whakamahara ki oku ara i roto i a te Karaiti, ki taku e whakaako nei i nga wahi katoa i roto i nga hahi katoa.

18 Na ko etahi e whakapehapeha ana, e mea ana e kore ahau e haere atu ki a koutou.

19 Otira e kore e roa ka haere atu ahau ki a koutou, ki te pai te Ariki; a hei reira, ehara i te kupu, engari ko te kaha o te hunga e whakapehapeha ana, taku e titiro ai.

20 No te mea ehara te rangatiratanga o te Atua i te kupu, engari he kaha.

21 Ko tehea ta koutou e pai ai? kia haere atu ahau ki a koutou me te whiu, i runga ranei i te aroha me te wairua mahaki?
