11 Porém Moisés suplicou a Jeová seu Deus, dizendo: Por que se acende a tua ira contra o teu povo, que tiraste da terra do Egito com grande fortaleza e com uma poderosa mão?

12 Porque diriam os egípcios: Para mal os tirou, a fim de os matar nos montes, e a fim de os consumir da face da terra? Volve-te do furor da tua ira e arrepende-te deste mal contra o teu povo.

13 Lembra-te de Abraão, de Isaque e de Israel, teus servos, a quem por ti mesmo juraste e disseste: Multiplicarei a vossa descendência como as estrelas do céu, e toda esta terra de que tenho falado, a darei a vossa descendência, e a herdarão para sempre.

14 Então Jeová se arrependeu do mal que dissera que havia de fazer ao seu povo.

11 And Moses besought Jehovah his God, and said, Jehovah, why doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people, that thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand? 12 Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, saying, For evil did he bring them forth, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against thy people. 13 Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest by thine own self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and they shall inherit it for ever. 14 And Jehovah repented of the evil which he said he would do unto his people.
