First of all, then, I urge that requests, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men,
for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and dignity.
This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,
who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
who gave himself as a ransom for allthe testimony given at the proper time.
For this I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying) as a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.
Therefore I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without anger or quarreling.
I also want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, modestly and sensibly, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly garments,
but with good deeds, as is proper for women who profess godliness.
Let a woman learn in silence with all submissiveness.
I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent.
For Adam was formed first, then Eve.
And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor.
But women will be saved through the bearing of children, if they continue in faith and love and holiness with self-restraint.
