1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man.
19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, fornications, theft, false witness, slander.
16 All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness;
51 Truly, truly, I say to you, if anyone keeps my word he will never see death.«
12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
22 But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who deceive themselves.
23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror;
24 for he looks at himself and goes away, and immediately forgets what he was like.
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.
22 When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this; and they believed the scripture and the word which Jesus had spoken.
24 »Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
1 Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion,
2 make my joy complete by being of the same mind, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose.
3 Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.
4 Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.
5 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,
6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not consider equality with God a thing to be grasped,
7 but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men.
8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to deatheven death on a cross.
9 Therefore God also highly exalted him, and bestowed on him the name which is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling;
13 for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
14 Do all things without grumbling or arguing,
15 so that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,
16 holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain.
17 But even if I am being poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all.
18 So you too should be glad and rejoice with me.
19 I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, that I also may be cheered when I receive news of you.
20 I have no one else like him, who will be genuinely concerned for your welfare.
21 For they all seek after their own interests, not those of Christ Jesus.
22 But you know that he has proved his worth, because as a son with his father he has served with me in the work of the gospel.
23 Therefore I hope to send him immediately, as soon as I see how things go with me;
24 and I trust in the Lord that shortly I myself will come also.
25 But I thought it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother and fellow worker and fellow soldier, who is also your messenger and minister to my need;
26 for he was longing for you all and was distressed because you had heard that he was ill.
27 Indeed he was ill, near to death. But God had mercy on him, and not only on him but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.
28 Therefore I am all the more eager to send him, so that when you see him again you may rejoice and I may have less anxiety.
29 So receive him in the Lord with all joy; and honor men like him,
30 because he almost died for the work of Christ, risking his life to complete what was deficient in your service to me.
2 For we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body as well.
2 Like newborn babes, long for the pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation,
21 Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and rank growth of wickedness, in humility receive the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
22 But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who deceive themselves.
31 Jesus then said to the Jews who had believed in him, »If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples.
23 Jesus answered him, »If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.
16 All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness;
17 so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
3 By faith we understand that the world was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible.
35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.
3 He is the radiance of his glory and the exact representation of his being, and upholds all things by the word of his power. When he had made purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
28 But he said, »Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!«
22 But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who deceive themselves.
31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
16 All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness;
17 so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
4 But he answered, »It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone,but by every word that proceedsfrom the mouth of God.«
4 But Jesus answered him, »It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone.«
38 He who believes in me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.«
17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
41 And many more believed because of his word.
9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For man believes with his heart and so is justified, and he confesses with his mouth and so is saved.
36 But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken.
37 For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.«
24 Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears my word and believes him who sent me, has eternal life; and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.
36 And they were all amazed and said to one another, »What is this word? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out!«
3 If we put bits into the mouths of horses that they may obey us, we guide their whole bodies.
4 Look at the ships also; though they are so great and are driven by strong winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the will of the pilot directs.
5 So also the tongue is a small part of the body, and yet it boasts of great things. See how great a forest is set aflame by such a small fire!
6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of evil among the members of the body. The tongue corrupts our whole person, sets the whole course of our life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.
7 For every species of beasts and birds, of reptiles and creatures of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by the human race.
8 But no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.
4 But he answered, »It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone,but by every word that proceedsfrom the mouth of God.«
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God.
31 Jesus then said to the Jews who had believed in him, »If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples.
32 And you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.«
34 You brood of vipers! how can you speak good, when you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
