1 Now as to the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need to have anything written to you.
2 For you yourselves know well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.
3 While people are saying, »Peace and safety,« then destruction will come upon them suddenly as labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape.
36 »But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.
37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark,
39 and they did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
9 And after he had said this, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight.
10 And as they were gazing intently into the sky while he was going, behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them.
11 They also said, »Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched him go into heaven.«
11 Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy lives and godliness,
12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be destroyed by fire, and the elements will melt with intense heat!
13 But according to his promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells.
8 But do not ignore this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.
9 The Lord is not slow about his promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with fire, and the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.
20 He who testifies to these things says, »Yes, I am coming soon.« Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.
16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
17 Then we who are alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.
32 »But of that day or that hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
26 For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.
12 »Behold, I am coming soon, and my reward is with me, to render to every man according to what he has done.
31 »When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne.
32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate them one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
33 And he will put the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
24 »But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened,and the moon will not give its light;
25 the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.
26 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
27 And then he will send out his angels, and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.
27 And just as it is appointed for men to die once, and after that comes judgment,
28 so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to bear sin but to bring salvation to those who are eagerly waiting for him.
11 Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war.
12 His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems; and he has a name written on him which no one knows but himself.
13 He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is called the Word of God.
14 The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses, and dressed in fine linen, white and clean.
15 From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron; he treads the wine press of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty.
16 And he has on his robe and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
42 Watch therefore, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.
43 But know this, that if the owner of the house had known at what time of the night the thief was coming, he would have watched and would not have let his house be broken into.
44 Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
2 In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.
1 Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to him, we beg you, brethren,
2 not to be quickly shaken in mind or excited, either by spirit or by word, or by letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come.
3 Let no one deceive you in any way; for that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,
4 who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God.
