11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word (o. logos) with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
6 And these words, which I command you this day, shall be in yours heart:
7 And you shall teach them diligently unto your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in yours house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.
8 And you shall bind them for a sign upon yours hand, and they shall be as frontlets between yours eyes.
13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
130 The entrance of your words gives light; it gives understanding unto the simple.
3 Blessed is he that reads, and they that hear the words (o. logos) of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
39 Search the scriptures; for in them all of you think all of you have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
8 This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth; but you shall meditate therein day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.
10 For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments.
4 For whatsoever things were written in old times were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
97 O how I love your law! it is my meditation all the day.
98 You through your commandments have made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me.
99 I have more understanding than all my teachers: for your testimonies are my meditation.
8 So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading.
24 And Jesus answering said unto them, Do all of you not therefore go astray, because all of you know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?
1 My son, if you will receive my words, and hide my commandments with you;
2 So that you incline yours ear unto wisdom, and apply yours heart to understanding;
3 Yea, if you cry after knowledge, and lift up your voice for understanding;
4 If you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hid treasures;
5 Then shall you understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.
6 For the LORD gives wisdom: out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding.
105 Your word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
9 Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to your word.
10 With my whole heart have I sought you: O let me not wander from your commandments.
11 Your word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against you.
