5 I wait for Yahweh, my soul waits, And I hope in his word.
6 My soul [waits] for the Lord More than watchmen [wait] for the morning; [Yes, more than] watchmen for the morning.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some count slackness; but is long-suffering toward you{}, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
20 Our soul has waited for Yahweh: He is our help and our shield.
21 For our heart will rejoice in him, Because we have trusted in his holy name.
22 Let your loving-kindness, O Yahweh, be on us, According to as we have hoped in you.
22 Seeing you{} have purified your{} souls in your{} obedience to the truth to unfeigned love of the brothers, love one another fervently from a pure heart:
23 having been begotten again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the word of God, which lives and stays.
24 For, All flesh is as grass, And all its glory as the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls:
25 But the word of the Lord stays forever. And this is the word of good news which was preached to you{}.
1 Now after two days will be the Passover,
2 and the chief priests, and the elders of the people were gathered together, to the court of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas;
3 and they took counsel together that they might take Jesus by subtlety, and kill him.
4 But they said, Not during the feast, lest a tumult arise among people.
5 Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,
6 there came to him a woman having an alabaster cruse of exceedingly precious ointment, and she poured it on his head, as he sat to eat.
7 But when the disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?
8 For this [ointment] might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.
9 But Jesus perceiving it said to them, Why do you{} trouble the woman? For she has worked a good work on me.
10 For you{} always have the poor with you{}; but me you{} do not always have.
11 For in that she poured this ointment on my body, she did it to prepare me for burial.
12 Truly I say to you{}, Wherever this good news will be preached in the whole world, that also which this woman has done will be spoken of for a memorial of her.
13 Then one of the twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests, that he might deliver him to them.
1 For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. I waited patiently for Yahweh; And he inclined to me, and heard my cry.
2 He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay; And he set my feet on a rock, and established my goings.
3 And he has put a new song in my mouth, even praise to our God: Many will see it, and fear, And will trust in Yahweh.
4 Blessed is the [noble] man who makes Yahweh his trust, And does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
5 Many, O Yahweh my God, are the wonderful works which you have done, And your thoughts which are toward us; They can't be set in order to you; If I would declare and speak of them, They are more than can be numbered.
6 Sacrifice and offering you have no delight in; My ears you have opened: Burnt-offering and sin-offering you have not required.
7 Then I said, Look, I have come; In the roll of the book it is written of me:
8 I delight to do your will, O my God; Yes, your law is inside me.
9 I have proclaimed the good news of righteousness in the great assembly; Look, I will not refrain my lips, O Yahweh, you know.
10 I have not hid your righteousness inside my heart; I have declared your faithfulness and your salvation; I have not concealed your loving-kindness and your truth from the great assembly.
11 Don't withhold your tender mercies from me, O Yahweh; Let your loving-kindness and your truth continually preserve me.
12 For innumerable evils have surrounded me; My iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to look up; They are more than the hairs of my head; And my heart has failed me.
13 Be pleased, O Yahweh, to deliver me: Hurry to help me, O Yahweh.
14 Let them be put to shame and confounded together That seek after my soul to destroy it: Let them be turned backward and brought to dishonor That delight in my hurt.
5 My soul, wait in silence for God only; For my expectation is from him.
18 And therefore Yahweh will wait, that he may be gracious to you{}; and therefore he will be exalted, that he may have mercy on you{}: for Yahweh is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him.
31 but those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings as eagles; they will run, and not be weary; they will walk, and not faint.
5 Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding:
6 In all your ways acknowledge him, And he will direct your paths.
3 And not only so, but we also rejoice in our tribulations: knowing that tribulation works steadfastness;
4 and steadfastness, approvedness; and approvedness, hope:
7 Be patient therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. Look, the husbandman waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient over it, until it receives the early and latter rain.
8 Be{} also patient; establish your{} hearts: for the coming of the Lord is at hand.
1 [A Psalm] of David. Yahweh is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? Yahweh is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When evildoers came upon me to eat up my flesh, [Even] my adversaries and my foes, they stumbled and fell.
3 Though a host should encamp against me, My heart will not fear: Though war should rise against me, Even then I will be confident.
4 One thing I have asked of Yahweh, that I will seek after; That I may dwell in the house of Yahweh all the days of my life, To see the beauty of Yahweh, And to inquire in his temple.
5 For in the day of trouble he will keep me secretly in his pavilion: In the covert of his tabernacle he will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock.
6 And now will my head be lifted up above my enemies round about me. And I will offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to Yahweh.
7 Hear, O Yahweh, when I cry with my voice: Have mercy also on me, and answer me.
8 My heart said to you, My face will seek your face. O Yahweh, I will seek [you].
9 Don't hide your face from me; Don't put your slave away in anger: You have been my help; Don't cast me off, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.
10 When my father and my mother forsake me, Then Yahweh will take me up.
11 Teach me your way, O Yahweh; And lead me in a plain path, Because of my enemies.
12 Don't deliver me over to the will of my adversaries: For false witnesses have risen up against me, And such as breathe out cruelty.
13 [I had fainted], unless I had believed to see the goodness of Yahweh In the land of the living.
14 Wait for Yahweh: Be strong, and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for Yahweh.
11 Look, we call them blessed that endured: you{} have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord, how that the Lord is full of pity, and merciful.
14 Wait for Yahweh: Be strong, and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for Yahweh.
13 [I had fainted], unless I had believed to see the goodness of Yahweh In the land of the living.
14 Wait for Yahweh: Be strong, and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for Yahweh.
11 strengthened with all power, according to the might of his glory, to all patience and long-suffering with joy;
34 Wait for Yahweh, and keep his way, And he will exalt you to inherit the land: When the wicked are cut off, you will see it.
