15 And if it seems evil to you{} to serve Yahweh, choose you{} this day whom you{} will serve; whether the gods which your{} fathers served who were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you{} dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve Yahweh.
15 And if it seems evil to you{} to serve Yahweh, choose you{} this day whom you{} will serve; whether the gods which your{} fathers served who were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you{} dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve Yahweh.
6 Sons of sons are the crown of old men; And the glory of sons are their fathers.
6 Sons of sons are the crown of old men; And the glory of sons are their fathers.
17 But the loving-kindness of Yahweh is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, And his righteousness to sons of sons;
18 To such as keep his covenant, And to those who remember his precepts to do them.
17 But the loving-kindness of Yahweh is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, And his righteousness to sons of sons;
18 To such as keep his covenant, And to those who remember his precepts to do them.
27 Prepare your work outside, And make it ready for yourself in the field; And afterward build your house.
4 And, you{} fathers, do not provoke your{} children to wrath: but nurture them in the chastening and admonition of the Lord.
4 And, you{} fathers, do not provoke your{} children to wrath: but nurture them in the chastening and admonition of the Lord.
24 He who has many companions [does it] to his own destruction; But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
10 Now I urge you{}, brothers, through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you{} speak the same thing and [that] there be no divisions among you{}; but [that] you{} are completely joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
4 But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them learn first to show piety toward their own family, and to requite their parents: for this is acceptable in the sight of God.
27 He who is greedy of gain troubles his own house; But he who hates bribes will live.
13 If you{} then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your{} children, how much more will [your{}] heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.
15 My son, if your heart be wise, My heart will be glad, even mine:
3 Look, sons are a heritage of Yahweh; [And] the fruit of the womb is [his] reward.
4 As arrows in the hand of a mighty man, So are the sons of youth.
5 Happy is the [noble] man who has his quiver full of them: They will not be put to shame, When they speak with their enemies in the gate.
8 My son, hear the instruction of your father, And don't forsake the law of your mother:
9 For they will be a chaplet of grace to your head, And chains about your neck.
9 Live joyfully with the wife whom you love all the days of your life of vanity, which he has given you under the sun, all your days of vanity: for that is your portion in life, and in your labor in which you labor under the sun.
28 And God blessed them: and God said to them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.
17 A companion loves at all times; And a brother is born for adversity.

19 But the father said to his slaves, Bring forth quickly the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and sandals on his feet:
1 The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son makes a glad father; But a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.
12 Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you.
12 Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you.
32 and be{} kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, even as God also in Christ forgave you{}.
24 Therefore will a man leave his father and his mother, and will stick to his wife: and they will be one flesh.
8 But if any does not provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.
8 But if any does not provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.
1 Now all the publicans and sinners were drawing near to him to hear him.
2 And both the Pharisees and the scribes murmured, saying, This man receives sinners, and eats with them.
3 And he spoke to them this parable, saying,
4 What do you{+} think? If any man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine, and go to search for that which goes astray?
5 And if he happens to find it, truly I say to you{+}, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety and nine which have not gone astray.
6 I say to you{+}, that even so there will be joy in heaven over one sinner that repents, [more] than over ninety and nine righteous persons, who need no repentance.
7 And he said, A certain man had two sons:
8 and the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of [your] substance that falls to me. And he divided to them his living.
9 And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together and took his journey into a far country; and there he wasted his substance with riotous living.
10 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that country; and he began to be in want.
11 And he went and stuck [close] to one of the citizens of that country; and he sent him into his fields to shepherd swine.
12 And he desired to have filled his belly with the pods that the swine ate: and no man gave to him.
13 But when he came to himself he said, How many hired workers of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish here with hunger!
14 I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight:
15 I am no more worthy to be called your{+} son: make me as one of your hired workers.
16 And he arose, and came to his father.
17 But while he was yet far off, his father saw him, and was moved with compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
18 And the son said to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight: I am no more worthy to be called your son.
19 But the father said to his slaves, Bring forth quickly the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and sandals on his feet:
20 and bring the fatted calf, [and] kill it, and let us eat, and make merry:
21 for this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.
22 Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing.
23 And he called to him one of the [household] slaves, and inquired what these things might be.
24 And he said to him, Your brother has come; and your father has killed the fatted calf, because he has received him safe and sound.
25 But he was angry, and would not go in: and his father came out, and entreated him.
26 But he answered and said to his father, Look, these many years I serve you as a slave, and I never transgressed a commandment of yours; and [yet] you never gave me a young goat, that I might make merry with my friends:
27 but when this your son came, who has devoured your living with prostitutes, you killed for him the fatted calf.
28 And he said to him, Child, you are ever with me, and all that is mine is yours.
29 But it was meet to make merry and be glad: for this your brother was dead, and is alive [again]; and [was] lost, and is found.
1 A Song of Ascents; of David. Look, how good and how pleasant it is For brothers to dwell together in unity!
1 Children, obey your{} parents in the Lord: for this is right.
2 Honor your father and mother (which is the first commandment with promise),
20 If a man says, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar: for he who doesn't love his brother whom he has seen, can't love God whom he has not seen.
6 And these words, which I command you this day, will be on your heart;
7 and you will teach them diligently to your sons, and will talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.
6 And these words, which I command you this day, will be on your heart;
7 and you will teach them diligently to your sons, and will talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.
10 Your own companion, and your father's companion, do not forsake; And don't go to your brother's house in the day of your calamity: Better is a neighbor who is near than a brother far off.
2 Beloved, we are now children of God, and it is not yet made manifest what we will be. We know that, if he will be manifested, we will be like him; for we will see him even as he is.
3 And everyone who has this hope [set] on him purifies himself, even as he is pure.
20 My son, keep the commandment of your father, And don't forsake the law of your mother:
29 He who troubles his own house will inherit the wind; And the foolish will be slave to the wise of heart.
6 But from the beginning of the creation, Male and female he made them.
7 For this cause will a man leave his father and mother, and will stick to his wife;
8 and the two will become one flesh: so that they are no more two, but one flesh.
9 What therefore God has joined together, don't let man separate.
57 Yahweh our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us;
24 The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice; And he who begets a wise child will have joy of him.
33 Nevertheless, let each one of you{} also love his own wife even as himself; but the wife should fear her husband.
31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your house.
15 Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you.
16 Look, I have graven you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me.
