30 Inzwischen kamen die Apostel wieder bei Jesu zusammen, und erzählten ihm Alles, was sie gethan und gelehrt hatten.

31 Da sprach er zu ihnen: Kommet beiseite an einen einsamen Ort und ruhet ein wenig aus; denn derer, die ab- und zugingen, waren so Viele, daß sie nicht einmal Zeit zum Essen hatten.

32 Sie gingen also zu Schiffe, und begaben sich an einen einsamen Ort allein.

33 Man sahe sie abfahren, Viele erfuhren es, und von allen Städten her lief man da zu Lande zusammen, und kam ihnen zuvor.und kam ihnen zuvor, fehlt im Griechischen.

34 Als Er ausstieg, sah er die große Volksmenge und empfand inniges Mitleid über sie, weil sie wie Schafe ohne Hirten waren. Er fing daher an, ihnen viele Lehren vorzutragen.

35 Da es aber schon ziemlich spät am Tage war, traten seine Jünger zu ihm und sprachen: Dieser Ort ist abgelegen, und es ist schon spät;

36 entlaß sie, daß sie in die umliegenden Dörfer und Flecken gehen, und sich Brod kaufen, um zu essen.denn sie haben nichts zu essen, nach dem Griechischen.

37 Er gab ihnen zur Antwort und sprach: Gebet ihr ihnen zu essen. Sie sprachen zu ihm: Sollen wir hingehen und für zweihundert Denare Brod kaufen, und ihnen zu essen geben? Er sprach zu ihnen: Wie viele Brode habt ihr?

38 Gehet hin und sehet zu! Als sie nachgesehen, sagten sie: Wir haben fünf, und zwei Fische.

39 Da befahl er ihnen, sie solleten Alle in verschiedenen Gesellschaften auf das grüne Gras sich lagern lassen.

40 Man legte sich also in Abtheilungen zu hundert und zu fünfzigen nieder.

41 Da nahm er die fünf Brode und zwei Fische, sah hinauf zum Himmel, segnete und brach die Brode, und gab sie seinen Jüngern, um sie den Leuten vorzulegen; auch die zwei Fische ließ er unter alle vertheilen.

42 Alle aßen und wurden satt.

43 Und man hob noch zwölf Körbe voll von den übriggebliebenen Brocken auf, auch von den Fischen.

44 Es waren aber fünftausend Mann, welche gespeiset hatten.

30 And the apostles gather themselves together unto Jesus; and they told him all things, whatsoever they had done, and whatsoever they had taught. 31 And he saith unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while. For there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat. 32 And they went away in the boat to a desert place apart. 33 And the people saw them going, and many knew them, and they ran together there on foot from all the cities, and outwent them. 34 And he came forth and saw a great multitude, and he had compassion on them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things. 35 And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him, and said, The place is desert, and the day is now far spent; 36 send them away, that they may go into the country and villages round about, and buy themselves somewhat to eat. 37 But he answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred shillings’ worth of bread, and give them to eat? 38 And he saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes. 39 And he commanded them that all should sit down by companies upon the green grass. 40 And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties. 41 And he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake the loaves; and he gave to the disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all. 42 And they all ate, and were filled. 43 And they took up broken pieces, twelve basketfuls, and also of the fishes. 44 And they that ate the loaves were five thousand men.
