3 Jetzt, als Judas, der Verräther, ihn zum Tode verurtheilt sah, reuete es ihn; und er brachte die dreißig Silberlinge wieder zu den Oberpriestern und Aeltesten

4 und sprach: Ich habe mich versündiget, daß ich unschuldiges Blut überliefert. Sie aber sprachen: Was geht das uns an; da siehe du zu!

5 Da warf er die Silberlinge in den Tempel, machete sich davon, ging hin und erhenkte sich.

3 Then Judas, who betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, 4 saying, I have sinned in that I betrayed innocent blood. But they said, What is that to us? see thou to it. 5 And he cast down the pieces of silver into the sanctuary, and departed; and he went away and hanged himself.
