16 Aber Ruth sprach: Dringe nicht in mich, dich zu verlassen, und zurückzukehren von dir weg; gewiß! wohin du gehst, da gehe ich hin; und wo du bleibst, da bleibe ich; dein Volk ist mein Volk, und deine Götter sind meine Götter.

17 Wo du stirbst, will ich sterben, und dort will ich begraben werden; Jehova thue mir dieses oder jenes; fürwahr! der Tod soll nur trennen zwischen mir, und zwischen dir.

16 And Ruth said, Entreat me not to leave thee, and to return from following after thee, for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge; thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God; 17 where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: Jehovah do so to me, and more also, if aught but death part thee and me.
