2 Jehova, unser Herr! wie herrlich ist dein Name auf der ganzen Erde, der du deine Herrlichkeit setzest über den Himmel!

3 Aus dem Munde der Kinder und der Säuglinge hast du Lob bereitet um deiner Widersacher willen; damit du beschwichtigest den Feind, und den, der Rache sucht.

4 Wenn ich sehe deinen Himmel, das Werk deiner Finger, den Mond und die Sterne, die du gemacht hast;

5 was ist der Mensch, daß du sein gedenkest; und der Sohn des Menschen, daß du dich seiner annimmst?

6 Du hast ihn wenig geringer seyn lassen als Gott, und mit Ehre und Pracht ihn gekrönet.

7 Du hast ihn zum Herrscher gemacht über die Werke deiner Hände; Alles hast du gelegt unter seine Füße:

8 Schafe und Rinder alle, und auch das Vieh des Feldes,

9 Vögel des Himmels, und Fische des Meeres, die wandeln die Pfade der Meere.

Who hast set thy glory upon the heavens!

2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou established strength,

Because of thine adversaries,

That thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.

3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers,

The moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;

4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him?

And the son of man, that thou visitest him?

5 For thou hast made him but little lower than God,

And crownest him with glory and honor.

6 Thou makest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands;

Thou hast put all things under his feet:

7 All sheep and oxen,

Yea, and the beasts of the field,

8 The birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea,

Whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
