1 Saulus verfolgte diesen Mord an Stephanus und war mit allem einverstanden. Am gleichen Tag begann die große Jagd in Jerusalem auf alle, die sich zu den Christen zählten. Die ganze Gemeinde floh in das Umland in die Dörfer in der Gegend von Judäa und Samarien. Nur die Apostel blieben in der Stadt.

2 Stephanus wurde von ein paar der ganz gläubigen Männer beerdigt. Alle waren total traurig über seinen Tod.

3 Saulus war weiter sehr aggromäßig unterwegs, er wollte um jeden Preis die Christen vernichten. Er überfiel ganze Familien, ließ die Frauen und Männer verhaften und in den Knast werfen.

4 Die Christen, die aus Jerusalem abgehauen waren, erzählten aber überall von der guten neuen Nachricht, die es über Jesus zu erzählen gab.

5 Einer von denen war ein Typ, der Philippus hieß. Der hing in der Stadt Samaria rum und erzählte dort allen von Jesus.

6 Die Leute, die da wohnten, waren total offen für das, was er zu sagen hatte. Sie hörten ihm zu und konnten sehen, was für fette Wunder er tat.

7 Viele, die Probleme mit dreckigen Dämonen hatten, wurden davon befreit. Die Dämonen verschwanden mit einem Schrei aus den Leuten, wenn er für sie betete. Auf dieselbe Art wurden auch viele Behinderte total gesund.

8 In der Stadt freuten sich alle da drüber.

9 In Samaria lebte so ein Ober-Esoteriker, der Simon genannt wurde, der konnte fette Wunder tun. Viele waren deshalb sehr beeindruckt von ihm. Dieser Typ hielt sich auf alle Fälle für was Besseres.

10 Jeder, der ihn in Aktion erlebte, sagte: „Der ist voll von einer übernatürlichen großen Kraft, die von Gott kommen muss!"

11 Tierisch viele waren echt abhängig von ihm, da er ihnen schon seit so langer Zeit was vorgezaubert hatte.

12 Weil sie jetzt aber an Jesus glaubten, so wie es Philippus ihnen beigebracht hatte, wollten alle getauft werden, Männer und Frauen.

13 Sogar dieser Simon wurde Christ und ließ sich taufen. Danach hing er noch mit Philippus ab und konnte es gar nicht auf die Reihe kriegen, was für heftige Wunder der tat.

14 Die Apostel hörten irgendwann von den Geschichten, die in Samaria passierten. Darum schickten sie Petrus und Johannes los.

15 Als sie da waren, beteten die zwei erst mal dafür, dass alle vom heiligen Geist angezappt werden.

16 Diese Erfahrung hatte nämlich noch keiner von ihnen gemacht, obwohl sie auf den Namen von Jesus getauft worden waren.

17 Die Apostel legten anschließend ihre Hände auf sie, und ─ zwosch! ─ wurden die auch gleich mit der Kraft von Gott abgefüllt.

18 Simon fuhr da drauf total ab. Immer wenn die Apostel den Leuten ihre Hände auf den Körper legten, wurden die vom heiligen Geist abgefüllt. Deshalb knallte er den Aposteln ziemlich viel Kohle auf den Tisch und schlug ihnen einen Deal vor:

19 „Machen Sie doch bitte, dass wenn ich den Leuten die Hände auf den Körper lege, der heilige Geist auch in sie reinkommt, ja?"

20 Petrus war davon total angefressen und meinte nur: „Ihre Kohle soll mit Ihnen zur Hölle fahren. Gott ist nicht käuflich.

21 Diese Kraft gehört Ihnen nicht und wird Ihnen auch nie gehören, weil Sie Ihre Denke nicht ändern wollen.

22 Hören Sie auf, so einen Blödsinn zu glauben, und bitten Sie Gott, dass er Ihnen diese ätzenden Gedanken vergibt.

23 Ich kann in Ihrem Herz so viel Gift erkennen und dass Sie eigentlich noch total link drauf sind."

24 Simon war echt fertig. „Bitte beten Sie für mich. Ich will nicht, dass das passiert, was Sie gerade gesagt haben!"

25 Als sie ihren Predigtjob erledigt hatten, verdünnisierten sich Petrus und Johannes wieder Richtung Jerusalem. Auf dem Weg ließen sie keine Gelegenheit aus, in jedem Dorf die gute Nachricht zu verbreiten, dass nämlich Jesus der Sohn von Gott ist und jeder durch ihn frei werden kann.

26 Irgendwann redete mal ein Engel von Gott mit Philippus: „Geh mal bitte die Straße von Jerusalem nach Gaza Richtung Süden."

27 Philippus tat es sofort. Auf dem Weg wurde er beim Trampen von so einem Typen aus Äthiopien mitgenommen, der war dort Finanzminister von der äthiopischen Königin Kandake. In seinem Land hatte er ganz schön was zu sagen.

28 Weil er einen eigenen Fahrer hatte, saß er gemütlich hinten im Wagen und las gerade in dem alten Teil von Gottes Buch ein Kapitel aus Jesaja.

29 Der Geist von Gott flüsterte zu Philippus: „Geh mal zu diesem Wagen und pflanz dich mal da hin."

30 Gesagt, getan ─ Philippus lief hin und bekam dabei mit, wie der Typ laut aus Jesaja vorlas. Darum fragte er ihn: „Kapieren Sie überhaupt, was Sie da lesen?"

31 „Keine Chance, es sei denn, ich finde jemanden, der mehr Peilung hat als ich!" Dann fragte er Philippus, ob er nicht Lust hätte, ihm Gesellschaft zu leisten.

32 Es ging gerade um die Sätze: „Wie ein Schaf, das geschlachtet werden soll, genau so hat man ihn abgeführt. Und wie ein Lamm, das sich einfach nicht wehrt, wenn man es schert, so hat er alles mit sich machen lassen.

33 Er wurde fertig gemacht, er bekam ein ungerechtes Urteil. Wer wird von seinen Kindern was erzählen können? Keiner. Denn man hat sein Leben auf diesem Planeten vernichtet."

34 Der Finanzminister fragte Philippus: „Von wem redet der da? Von sich selbst oder von jemand anderem?"

35 Philippus legte sofort los und erklärte ihm die ganze Sache mit Jesus. Er nahm diese Stelle aus dem Buch als Hilfe dafür.

36 Irgendwann kamen sie an einer Wasserstelle vorbei. „Da ist Wasser! Warum können Sie mich nicht gleich auch taufen?"

38 Dann sagte er zum Chauffeur, er sollte mal ’ne Pause machen. Beide stiegen aus und gingen ins Wasser. Und dann taufte Philippus den Typen.

39 Nachdem sie aus dem Wasser raus waren, wurde Philippus plötzlich durch Gottes Geist weggebeamt. Der Äthiopier konnte ihn nicht mehr sehen, aber er war jetzt total happy und reiste vergnügt weiter.

40 Philippus wurde in Aschdod gesichtet. Er machte von da aus ’ne Tour, besuchte jede Stadt bis hin nach Cäsarea und erzählte überall von der guten neuen Sache mit Jesus.

1 And Saul was consenting unto his death.

And there arose on that day a great persecution against the church which was in Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judæa and Samaria, except the apostles. 2 And devout men buried Stephen, and made great lamentation over him. 3 But Saul laid waste the church, entering into every house, and dragging men and women committed them to prison.

4 They therefore that were scattered abroad went about preaching the word. 5 And Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and proclaimed unto them the Christ. 6 And the multitudes gave heed with one accord unto the things that were spoken by Philip, when they heard, and saw the signs which he did. 7 For from many of those that had unclean spirits, they came out, crying with a loud voice: and many that were palsied, and that were lame, were healed. 8 And there was much joy in that city.

9 But there was a certain man, Simon by name, who beforetime in the city used sorcery, and amazed the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one: 10 to whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is that power of God which is called Great. 11 And they gave heed to him, because that of long time he had amazed them with his sorceries. 12 But when they believed Philip preaching good tidings concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. 13 And Simon also himself believed: and being baptized, he continued with Philip; and beholding signs and great miracles wrought, he was amazed.

14 Now when the apostles that were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: 15 who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Spirit: 16 for as yet it was fallen upon none of them: only they had been baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus. 17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit. 18 Now when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money, 19 saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay my hands, he may receive the Holy Spirit. 20 But Peter said unto him, Thy silver perish with thee, because thou hast thought to obtain the gift of God with money. 21 Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right before God. 22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray the Lord, if perhaps the thought of thy heart shall be forgiven thee. 23 For I see that thou art in the gall of bitterness and in the bond of iniquity. 24 And Simon answered and said, Pray ye for me to the Lord, that none of the things which ye have spoken come upon me.

25 They therefore, when they had testified and spoken the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel to many villages of the Samaritans.

26 But an angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza: the same is desert. 27 And he arose and went: and behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was over all her treasure, who had come to Jerusalem to worship; 28 and he was returning and sitting in his chariot, and was reading the prophet Isaiah. 29 And the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot. 30 And Philip ran to him, and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest? 31 And he said, How can I, except some one shall guide me? And he besought Philip to come up and sit with him. 32 Now the passage of the scripture which he was reading was this,

He was led as a sheep to the slaughter;

And as a lamb before his shearer is dumb,

So he openeth not his mouth:

33 In his humiliation his judgment was taken away:

His generation who shall declare?

For his life is taken from the earth.

34 And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other? 35 And Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this scripture, preached unto him Jesus. 36 And as they went on the way, they came unto a certain water; and the eunuch saith, Behold, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? 37 38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they both went down into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. 39 And when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip; and the eunuch saw him no more, for he went on his way rejoicing. 40 But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached the gospel to all the cities, till he came to Cæsarea.
