1 Schließlich kam Jesus mit seinen Leuten in Betfage an, einem Vorort von Jerusalem City. Als sie beim Ölberg angekommen waren, meinte Jesus zu zwei von seinen Freunden:

2 „Hey ihr beiden, geht schon mal vor! Wenn ihr in den Ort reinkommt, werdet ihr am Zaun ein rotes Fahrrad finden, das nicht angeschlossen ist. Bringt das mal bitte zu mir!

3 Sollte jemand fragen, was ihr damit vorhabt, so sagt einfach: Der Chef braucht es!

4 Das alles soll so sein, damit wahr wird, was die Propheten schon vor langer Zeit vorausgesagt haben. Sie sagten nämlich:

5 ‚Ihr aus der Familie Gottes: Passt auf, der neue Chef wird bei euch reinschneien, er ist friedlich unterwegs und fährt auf einem normalen Fahrrad.‘"

6 Die beiden Leute aus seiner Clique taten genau das, was er gesagt hatte.

7 Sie brachten das Teil zu ihm, legten ein paar Klamotten auf den Sitz und setzten Jesus darauf.

8 Die Menschen bejubelten Jesus, als wäre er der Superstar schlechthin. Sie legten sogar ihre Jacken vor ihm auf den Weg, damit er da drüberrollte.

9 Alle drängelten sich um ihn herum und wollten ein Autogramm haben. Sie riefen: „Da kommt er, der Superstar!! Der neue König ist da! Hurra!! Er ist der Mann, den Gott endlich zu uns geschickt hat!! Gott ist der Beste!!"

10 Ganz Jerusalem flippte total aus: „Was ist denn das für ein Mann?", fragten sie überall rum.

11 „Das ist Jesus, der große Prophet aus Nazareth, das liegt in Galiläa", riefen die Leute, die mit ihm gingen.

1 And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and came unto Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, 2 saying unto them, Go into the village that is over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me. 3 And if any one say aught unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them. 4 Now this is come to pass, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet, saying,

5 Tell ye the daughter of Zion,

Behold, thy King cometh unto thee,

Meek, and riding upon an ass,

And upon a colt the foal of an ass.

6 And the disciples went, and did even as Jesus appointed them, 7 and brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their garments; and he sat thereon. 8 And the most part of the multitude spread their garments in the way; and others cut branches from the trees, and spread them in the way. 9 And the multitudes that went before him, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest. 10 And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was stirred, saying, Who is this? 11 And the multitudes said, This is the prophet, Jesus, from Nazareth of Galilee.
