A Paixão de Cristo
14 Since then the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
15 And deliver them, who, through fear of death, were all their life-time subject to bondage.
3 He is despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgression, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
8 But God commendeth his love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
21 For even to this were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
22 Who committed no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
24 Who himself bore our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live to righteousness; by whose stripes ye were healed.
55 And the chief priests, and all the council sought for testimony against Jesus to put him to death; and found none.
17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I may take it again.
18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received from my Father.
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient to death, even the death of the cross.
45 For even the son of man came not to be ministered to, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
38 Then saith he to them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even to death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.
21 From that time forth Jesus began to show to his disciples, that he must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.
