1 I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all, the testimony at the proper time, 7 to which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle—I am telling the truth in Christ, not lying—a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.

8 I desire therefore that the men in every place pray, lifting up holy hands without anger and doubting. 9 In the same way, that women also adorn themselves in decent clothing, with modesty and propriety, not with braided hair, gold, pearls, or expensive clothing, 10 but with good works, which is appropriate for women professing godliness. 11 Let a woman learn in quietness with full submission. 12 But I don’t permit a woman to teach, nor to exercise authority over a man, but to be in quietness. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 Adam wasn’t deceived, but the woman, being deceived, has fallen into disobedience; 15 but she will be saved through her childbearing, if they continue in faith, love, and holiness with sobriety.

1 因此， 我劝你最重要的是要为万人、君王和一切有权位的恳求、祷告、代求和感恩， 好让我们可以敬虔庄重地过平静安稳的日子。

3 在我们的救主 神看来， 这是美好的， 可蒙悦纳的。

4 他愿意万人得救， 并且充分认识真理。

5 因为 神只有一位， 在 神和人中间也只有一位中保， 就是降世为人的基督耶稣。

6 他舍了自己作万人的赎价， 到了适当的时候， 这事就证实了。

7 为了这事， 我也被派作传道的和使徒（我说的是真话， 不是谎言）， 在信仰和真理上作外族人的教师。

8 因此， 我愿意男人没有忿怒， 没有争论， 举起圣洁的手随处祷告。

9 照样， 我也愿意女人以端正、娴淑、自律为装饰； 不要以鬈发、金饰、珠宝， 或名贵衣裳为装饰，

10 却要以善行作装饰， 这才配称为敬畏 神的女人。

11 女人应该安静而又完全顺服地学习。

12 我不准女人教训男人， 辖制男人； 女人总要安静。

13 因为先造的是亚当， 后造的是夏娃；

14 不是亚当受了引诱， 而是女人受了引诱， 陷在过犯里面。

15 然而女人要是常常存着信心、爱心、圣洁自律， 在她生育的事上必定得救。
