1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying, 2 "This is the statute of the law which Yahweh has commanded. Tell the children of Israel to bring you a red heifer without spot, in which is no defect, and which was never yoked. 3 You shall give her to Eleazar the priest, and he shall bring her outside of the camp, and one shall kill her before his face. 4 Eleazar the priest shall take some of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle her blood toward the front of the Tent of Meeting seven times. 5 One shall burn the heifer in his sight; her skin, and her meat, and her blood, with her dung, shall he burn. 6 The priest shall take cedar wood, hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the middle of the burning of the heifer. 7 Then the priest shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp, and the priest shall be unclean until the evening. 8 He who burns her shall wash his clothes in water, and bathe his flesh in water, and shall be unclean until the evening.

9 "A man who is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up outside of the camp in a clean place; and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for use in water for cleansing impurity. It is a sin offering. 10 He who gathers the ashes of the heifer shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening. It shall be to the children of Israel, and to the stranger who lives as a foreigner among them, for a statute forever.

11 "He who touches the dead body of any man shall be unclean seven days. 12 He shall purify himself with water on the third day, and on the seventh day he shall be clean; but if he doesn’t purify himself the third day, then the seventh day he shall not be clean. 13 Whoever touches a dead person, the body of a man who has died, and doesn’t purify himself, defiles Yahweh’s tabernacle; and that soul shall be cut off from Israel; because the water for impurity was not sprinkled on him, he shall be unclean. His uncleanness is yet on him.

14 "This is the law when a man dies in a tent: everyone who comes into the tent, and everyone who is in the tent, shall be unclean seven days. 15 Every open vessel, which has no covering bound on it, is unclean.

16 "Whoever in the open field touches one who is slain with a sword, or a dead body, or a bone of a man, or a grave, shall be unclean seven days.

17 "For the unclean, they shall take of the ashes of the burning of the sin offering; and running water shall be poured on them in a vessel. 18 A clean person shall take hyssop, dip it in the water, and sprinkle it on the tent, on all the vessels, on the persons who were there, and on him who touched the bone, or the slain, or the dead, or the grave. 19 The clean person shall sprinkle on the unclean on the third day, and on the seventh day. On the seventh day, he shall purify him. He shall wash his clothes and bathe himself in water, and shall be clean at evening. 20 But the man who shall be unclean, and shall not purify himself, that soul shall be cut off from among the assembly, because he has defiled the sanctuary of Yahweh. The water for impurity has not been sprinkled on him. He is unclean. 21 It shall be a perpetual statute to them. He who sprinkles the water for impurity shall wash his clothes, and he who touches the water for impurity shall be unclean until evening.

22 "Whatever the unclean person touches shall be unclean; and the soul that touches it shall be unclean until evening."

1 耶和华对摩西和亚伦说：

2 "耶和华所定的律法是这样说： 你要吩咐以色列人， 把一头完全、没有残疾、未曾负过轭的红母牛， 牵到你这里来。

3 你们要把牛交给以利亚撒祭司， 他就要把牛牵到营外， 在他面前把牛宰了。

4 以利亚撒祭司要用指头蘸牛血， 向会幕前面洒七次。

5 然后， 在他面前把牛焚烧， 牛的皮、肉、血和粪， 都要焚烧。

6 祭司要把香柏木、牛膝草、朱红色线， 都丢在烧牛的火中。

7 祭司要洗自己的衣服， 并用水洗身， 然后才可以进营； 但祭司必不洁净到晚上。

8 那烧牛的人也要用水洗自己的衣服， 并用水洗身， 也必不洁净到晚上。

9 要由一个洁净的人收起母牛的灰， 安放在营外洁净的地方， 为以色列会众留作除污秽的水， 这是除罪的。

10 那收起牛灰的人， 要洗自己的衣服， 必不洁净到晚上。这要给以色列人和寄居在他们中间的外人， 作永远的定例。

11 "摸了任何死尸的， 必不洁净七天。

12 那人在第三天要用这样除污秽的水洁净自己， 到第七天他就洁净了； 如果他在第三天不洁净自己， 到第七天他就不洁净了。

13 任何人摸了死尸， 而不洁净自己的， 就玷污了耶和华的帐幕， 这人必要从以色列中剪除， 因为这除污秽的水没有洒在他身上， 所以他必不洁净； 他的不洁还留在他身上。

14 "如果人在会幕里死了， 条例是这样的： 进这会幕的和一切在会幕里的， 都必不洁净七天。

15 一切敞口的器皿， 就是没有盖上盖的， 都是不洁净的。

16 在田间摸了被刀杀死的， 或是自己死的尸体， 或是人的骨头， 或是坟墓， 就必不洁净七天。

17 人要为这不洁净的人， 拿些烧成的除罪灰， 放在器皿里， 倒上活水。

18 要由一个洁净的人， 拿牛膝草蘸在这水里， 把水洒在会幕上和一切器皿， 以及在那里的众人身上， 又洒在摸了骨头， 或是摸了被杀死的， 或是摸了坟墓的人身上。

19 第三天和第七天， 那洁净的人要洒水在不洁净的人身上， 这样到第七天就使他洁净； 他要洗自己的衣服， 用水洗身， 到晚上就洁净了。

20 "但那污秽而不洁净自己的， 那人必从会众中被剪除， 因为他玷污了耶和华的圣所； 除污秽的水没有洒在他身上， 他是不洁净的。

21 这要给你们作永远的定例。那洒了除污秽水的人， 要洗自己的衣服； 那摸了除污秽水的， 必不洁净到晚上。

22 不洁净的人摸过的一切， 必不洁净； 摸了这物的人， 也必不洁净到晚上。"
