18 Discipline your son, for there is hope;
don’t be a willing party to his death.
6 These words, which I command you today, shall be on your heart; 7 and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.
10 the day that you stood before the LORD your God in Horeb, when the LORD said to me, "Assemble the people to me, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they live on the earth, and that they may teach their children."
26 She opens her mouth with wisdom.
Kind instruction is on her tongue.
1 Hear my teaching, my people.
Turn your ears to the words of my mouth.
2 I will open my mouth in a parable.
I will utter dark sayings of old,
3 which we have heard and known,
and our fathers have told us.
4 We will not hide them from their children,
telling to the generation to come the praises of the LORD,
his strength, and his wondrous deeds that he has done.
15 Folly is bound up in the heart of a child;
the rod of discipline drives it far from him.
8 My son, listen to your father’s instruction,
and don’t forsake your mother’s teaching;
9 for they will be a garland to grace your head,
and chains around your neck.
5 You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might. 6 These words, which I command you today, shall be on your heart; 7 and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.
12 "Honour your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which the LORD your God gives you.
3 which we have heard and known,
and our fathers have told us.
4 We will not hide them from their children,
telling to the generation to come the praises of the LORD,
his strength, and his wondrous deeds that he has done.
14 But Jesus said, "Allow the little children, and don’t forbid them to come to me; for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to ones like these."
17 Correct your son, and he will give you peace;
yes, he will bring delight to your soul.
14 But you remain in the things which you have learnt and have been assured of, knowing from whom you have learnt them. 15 From infancy, you have known the holy Scriptures which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
3 Behold, children are a heritage of the LORD.
The fruit of the womb is his reward.
8 Oh taste and see that the LORD is good.
Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.
9 Oh fear the LORD, you his saints,
for there is no lack with those who fear him.
10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger,
but those who seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing.
11 Come, you children, listen to me.
I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
3 For I will pour water on him who is thirsty,
and streams on the dry ground.
I will pour my Spirit on your descendants,
and my blessing on your offspring;
18 Therefore you shall lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul. You shall bind them for a sign on your hand, and they shall be for frontlets between your eyes. 19 You shall teach them to your children, talking of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. 20 You shall write them on the door posts of your house and on your gates; 21 that your days and your children’s days may be multiplied in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers to give them, as the days of the heavens above the earth.
6 Train up a child in the way he should go,
and when he is old he will not depart from it.
4 You fathers, don’t provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
15 From infancy, you have known the holy Scriptures which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
20 Children, obey your parents in all things, for this pleases the Lord.
21 Fathers, don’t provoke your children, so that they won’t be discouraged.
4 We will not hide them from their children,
telling to the generation to come the praises of the LORD,
his strength, and his wondrous deeds that he has done.
5 For he established a covenant in Jacob,
and appointed a teaching in Israel,
which he commanded our fathers,
that they should make them known to their children;
6 that the generation to come might know, even the children who should be born;
who should arise and tell their children,
7 that they might set their hope in God,
and not forget God’s deeds,
but keep his commandments,
11 Come, you children, listen to me.
I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
13 All your children will be taught by the LORD,
and your children’s peace will be great.
19 The living, the living, he shall praise you, as I do today.
The father shall make known your truth to the children.
1 Listen, sons, to a father’s instruction.
Pay attention and know understanding;
13 Don’t withhold correction from a child.
If you punish him with the rod, he will not die.
14 Punish him with the rod,
and save his soul from Sheol.
7 It is for discipline that you endure. God deals with you as with children, for what son is there whom his father doesn’t discipline?
7 and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.
24 One who spares the rod hates his son,
but one who loves him is careful to discipline him.
15 The rod of correction gives wisdom,
but a child left to himself causes shame to his mother.
