20 Children, obey your parents in all things, for this pleases the Lord.
17 "Anyone who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death.
32 "‘You shall rise up before the grey head and honour the face of the elderly; and you shall fear your God. I am the LORD.
8 But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 "Honour your father and mother," which is the first commandment with a promise: 3 "that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth."
4 You fathers, don’t provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
26 He who robs his father and drives away his mother
is a son who causes shame and brings reproach.
12 "Honour your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which the LORD your God gives you.
20 Whoever curses his father or his mother,
his lamp shall be put out in blackness of darkness.
3 He answered them, "Why do you also disobey the commandment of God because of your tradition? 4 For God commanded, ‘Honour your father and your mother,’ and, ‘He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.’
2 "Honour your father and mother," which is the first commandment with a promise: 3 "that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth."
1 But know this: that in the last days, grievous times will come. 2 For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 without natural affection, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, not lovers of good,
1 A wise son listens to his father’s instruction,
but a scoffer doesn’t listen to rebuke.
3 He answered them, "Why do you also disobey the commandment of God because of your tradition? 4 For God commanded, ‘Honour your father and your mother,’ and, ‘He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.’ 5 But you say, ‘Whoever may tell his father or his mother, "Whatever help you might otherwise have gotten from me is a gift devoted to God," 6 he shall not honour his father or mother.’ You have made the commandment of God void because of your tradition.
22 Listen to your father who gave you life,
and don’t despise your mother when she is old.
17 "The eye that mocks at his father,
and scorns obedience to his mother,
the ravens of the valley shall pick it out,
the young eagles shall eat it.
8 My son, listen to your father’s instruction,
and don’t forsake your mother’s teaching;
9 for they will be a garland to grace your head,
and chains around your neck.
16 "Honour your father and your mother, as the LORD your God commanded you, that your days may be long and that it may go well with you in the land which the LORD your God gives you.
1 Listen, sons, to a father’s instruction.
Pay attention and know understanding;
4 But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them learn first to show piety towards their own family and to repay their parents, for this is acceptable in the sight of God.
3 "‘Each one of you shall respect his mother and his father. You shall keep my Sabbaths. I am the LORD your God.
8 My son, listen to your father’s instruction,
and don’t forsake your mother’s teaching;
