10 For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: "If anyone is not willing to work, don’t let him eat." 11 For we hear of some who walk amongst you in rebellion, who don’t work at all, but are busybodies. 12 Now those who are that way, we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ, that they work with quietness and eat their own bread.
6 Go to the ant, you sluggard.
Consider her ways, and be wise;
7 which having no chief, overseer, or ruler,
8 provides her bread in the summer,
and gathers her food in the harvest.
9 How long will you sleep, sluggard?
When will you arise out of your sleep?
10 A little sleep, a little slumber,
a little folding of the hands to sleep—
11 so your poverty will come as a robber,
and your scarcity as an armed man.
17 Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
14 Let all that you do be done in love.
4 He becomes poor who works with a lazy hand,
but the hand of the diligent brings wealth.
3 Commit your deeds to the LORD,
and your plans shall succeed.
3 Commit your deeds to the LORD,
and your plans shall succeed.
13 Don’t love sleep, lest you come to poverty.
Open your eyes, and you shall be satisfied with bread.
16 Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, 17 that each person who belongs to God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
8 Watch yourselves, that we don’t lose the things which we have accomplished, but that we receive a full reward.
4 Then I saw all the labour and achievement that is the envy of a man’s neighbour. This also is vanity and a striving after wind.
31 Whether therefore you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
23 And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men,
9 One who is slack in his work
is brother to him who is a master of destruction.
23 In all hard work there is profit,
but the talk of the lips leads only to poverty.
12 Most certainly I tell you, he who believes in me, the works that I do, he will do also; and he will do greater works than these, because I am going to my Father.
24 The hands of the diligent ones shall rule,
but laziness ends in slave labour.
24 The hands of the diligent ones shall rule,
but laziness ends in slave labour.
12 I know that there is nothing better for them than to rejoice, and to do good as long as they live. 13 Also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy good in all his labour, is the gift of God.
14 Do all things without complaining and arguing, 15 that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without defect in the middle of a crooked and perverse generation, amongst whom you are seen as lights in the world,
22 The LORD’s blessing brings wealth,
and he adds no trouble to it.
15 Give diligence to present yourself approved by God, a workman who doesn’t need to be ashamed, properly handling the Word of Truth.
15 Give diligence to present yourself approved by God, a workman who doesn’t need to be ashamed, properly handling the Word of Truth.
8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, that you, always having all sufficiency in everything, may abound to every good work.
9 Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labour.
19 Every man also to whom God has given riches and wealth, and has given him power to eat of it, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour—this is the gift of God.
23 And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.
18 Behold, that which I have seen to be good and proper is for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy good in all his labour, in which he labours under the sun, all the days of his life which God has given him; for this is his portion.
24 But these things don’t count; nor do I hold my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to fully testify to the Good News of the grace of God.
7 with good will doing service as to the Lord and not to men, 8 knowing that whatever good thing each one does, he will receive the same good again from the Lord, whether he is bound or free.
9 There remains therefore a Sabbath rest for the people of God. 10 For he who has entered into his rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from his.
13 Now who will harm you if you become imitators of that which is good?
11 and that you make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, even as we instructed you, 12 that you may walk properly towards those who are outside, and may have need of nothing.
28 Let him who stole steal no more; but rather let him labour, producing with his hands something that is good, that he may have something to give to him who has need.
8 There is one who is alone, and he has neither son nor brother. There is no end to all of his labour, neither are his eyes satisfied with wealth. "For whom then do I labour and deprive my soul of enjoyment?" This also is vanity. Yes, it is a miserable business.
58 Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the Lord’s work, because you know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
26 See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they?
11 Wealth gained dishonestly dwindles away,
but he who gathers by hand makes it grow.
10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work, nor plan, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in Sheol, where you are going.
17 Let the favour of the Lord our God be on us.
Establish the work of our hands for us.
Yes, establish the work of our hands.
