10 as sorrowful yet always rejoicing, as poor yet making many rich, as having nothing and yet possessing all things.
18 For in much wisdom is much grief; and he who increases knowledge increases sorrow.
1 The proverbs of Solomon.
A wise son makes a glad father;
but a foolish son brings grief to his mother.
12 The vine has dried up, and the fig tree withered—
the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree,
even all of the trees of the field are withered;
for joy has withered away from the sons of men.
16 They will never be hungry or thirsty any more. The sun won’t beat on them, nor any heat; 17 for the Lamb who is in the middle of the throne shepherds them and leads them to springs of life-giving waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."
30 Don’t grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
10 Therefore remove sorrow from your heart,
and put away evil from your flesh;
for youth and the dawn of life are vanity.
8 The LORD himself is who goes before you. He will be with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be discouraged."
20 Then Job arose, and tore his robe, and shaved his head, and fell down on the ground, and worshipped. 21 He said, "Naked I came out of my mother’s womb, and naked will I return there. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away. Blessed be the LORD’s name."
17 The righteous cry, and the LORD hears,
and delivers them out of all their troubles.
18 The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart,
and saves those who have a crushed spirit.
3 I heard a loud voice out of heaven saying, "Behold, God’s dwelling is with people; and he will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. 4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain any more. The first things have passed away."
8 The LORD opens the eyes of the blind.
The LORD raises up those who are bowed down.
The LORD loves the righteous.
5 "Turn back, and tell Hezekiah the prince of my people, ‘The LORD, the God of David your father, says, "I have heard your prayer. I have seen your tears. Behold, I will heal you. On the third day, you will go up to the LORD’s house.
9 Lord, all my desire is before you.
My groaning is not hidden from you.
5 For his anger is but for a moment.
His favour is for a lifetime.
Weeping may stay for the night,
but joy comes in the morning.
7 casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.
4 Blessed are those who mourn,
for they shall be comforted.
15 Rejoice with those who rejoice. Weep with those who weep.
12 "Yet even now," says the LORD, "turn to me with all your heart,
and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning."
