Esperar no Senhor

22 Having purified your souls by obeying the truth thro' the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, love one another with a pure heart fervently:

23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God which liveth and abideth for ever.

24 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass: The grass is withered, and the flower thereof is fallen off;

25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which is preached to you by the gospel.

9 The Lord is not slow concerning his promise (tho' some men count it slowness) but is long-suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be like ten virgins, who taking their lamps, went forth to meet the bridegroom.

2 But five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

3 They that were foolish, taking their lamps, took not oil with them.

4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

5 While the bridegroom delayed, they all slumbered and slept.

6 But at midnight there was a cry, Behold the bridegroom cometh: come ye out to meet him.

7 Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps.

8 And the foolish said to the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.

9 But the wise answered, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage; and the door was shut.

11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

12 But he answering said, Verily I say to you, I know you not.

13 Watch therefore; for ye know not the day nor the hour.

3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also,

4 knowing that tribulation worketh patience, And patience experience, and experience hope;

7 Be patient, therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath patience for it, till he receive the early and the latter rain.

8 Be ye also patient, stablish your hearts; for the coming of the Lord is nigh.

11 Behold, we count them happy that have endured. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord: for the Lord is very pitiful and of tender mercy.

11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and long-suffering with joyfulness:
