A Paixão de Cristo
14 Since then the children partake of flesh and blood, he also himself in like manner took part of the same, that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil:
15 And deliver them, as many as through fear of death, were all their life-time subject to bondage.
8 But God recommendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
21 For even hereunto are ye called; for Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that ye might follow his steps:
22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
23 Who when he was reviled, reviled not again, when he suffered he threatened not, but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
24 Who himself bore our sins in his own body on the tree, that we being dead to sin might live to righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
55 Then the chief priests and all the council sought for witness against Jesus, to put him to death, and found none.
17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I may take it again.
18 No one taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again.
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, becoming obedient even unto death, yea, the death of the cross.
45 For the Son of man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many.
38 Then saith he to them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.
21 From that time Jesus began to shew his disciples, That he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.
