10 For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: "If anyone is not willing to work, don’t let him eat."
7 You husbands, in the same way, live with your wives according to knowledge, giving honor to the woman, as to the weaker vessel, as also being joint heirs of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.
19 Husbands, love your wives, and don’t be bitter against them.
18 Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit,
19 For I have known him, to the end that he may command his children and his household after him, that they may keep the way of the LORD, to do righteousness and justice; to the end that the LORD may bring on Abraham that which he has spoken of him."
8 But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Messiah also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it;
23 And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men,
13 Watch! Stand firm in the faith! Be courageous! Be strong!
2 The overseer therefore must be without reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, sensible, modest, hospitable, good at teaching; 3 not a drinker, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous; 4 one who rules his own house well, having children in subjection with all reverence;
4 You fathers, don’t provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
