18 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter towards them.
9 But Onan knew that the heir would not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in to his brothers wife, that he spoiled it on the ground, so as not to give seed to his brother.
10 And the thing which he did made the eye of Jehovah quiver; therefore He killed him also.
26 Then God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the flying creatures of the heavens, and over the beasts, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that moves on the earth.
27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
28 And God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the flying creatures of the heavens, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.
24 And David comforted Bathsheba his wife, and went in to her and lay with her. And she bore a son, and he called his name Solomon. Now Jehovah loved him,
7 They shall not take a wife who commits harlotry or a defiled woman, nor shall they take a woman put away from her husband; for he is holy unto his God.
3 Let the husband render to his wife the affection due her, and likewise also the wife to her husband.
4 The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. And likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.
14 And above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfectness.
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.
16 Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God, even the Father, through Him.
5 Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: sexual perversion, uncleanness, passion, evil lusts, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
14 Houses and riches are the inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from Jehovah.
4 Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but prostitutes and adulterers God will judge.
15 See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.
27 They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.
3 Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine inside your house, your children like olive plants around your table.
17 And Jehovah struck Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of the matter of Sarai, Abrams wife.
18 And Pharaoh summoned Abram and said, What is this that you have done to me? Why did you not tell me that she was your wife?
6 His left hand is under my head, and his right hand embraces me.
2 Strive! Contend with your mother, for she is not My wife, nor am I her husband. Therefore, let her put away her harlotries from her presence, and her adulteries from between her breasts,
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,
26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the Word,
18 Flee sexual perversion. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.
19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
20 For you were bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are Gods.
21 And Jehovah God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place.
22 And the rib which Jehovah God had taken out of the man He rebuilt into a woman, and He brought her to the man.
23 And the man said: This now at last is bone from my bones and flesh from my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of man.
24 Therefore a man, leaving his father and mother, and having cleaved to his wife, they are one flesh.
2 For the woman who has a husband is bound by the Law to her husband as long as he lives. But if the husband dies, she is released from the law of her husband.
3 So then if, while her husband lives, she becomes another mans, she will be called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is free from that law, so that she is no adulteress, though she becomes another mans.
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,
26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the Word,
27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.
28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself.
29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.
30 For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones.
14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband; otherwise your children would be unclean, but now they are holy.
10 for prostitutes, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine,
3 But sexual perversion and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints;
31 Furthermore it has been said, Whoever puts away his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.
32 But I say to you that whoever puts away his wife for any reason except sexual perversion causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries a woman who is divorced commits adultery.
1 Now Sarai, Abrams wife, had borne him no children. And she had an Egyptian maidservant whose name was Hagar.
2 And Sarai said to Abram, See now, Jehovah has restrained me from bearing. Please, go in to my maid; perhaps I shall build up a family by her. And Abram heeded the voice of Sarai.
3 And Sarai, Abrams wife, took Hagar her maidservant, the Egyptian, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan.
4 Love is longsuffering and is kind; love does not envy; love does not boast itself, is not puffed up;
5 does not behave indecently, does not seek its own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil;
6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
7 covers all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
2 Nevertheless, because of sexual perversion, let each have his own wife, and let each have her own husband.
8 But I say to the unmarried and to the widows: It is good for them if they remain even as I am;
9 but if they cannot exercise self-control, let them marry. For it is better to marry than to be on fire.
10 Now to the married I command, yet not I but the Lord: A wife is not to leave her husband.
11 But, indeed, in case she does leave, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband. And a husband is not to send away his wife.
21 But Abijah became mighty, married fourteen wives, and begot twenty-two sons and sixteen daughters.
6 So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has yoked together, let not man separate.
19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, sexual perversion, uncleanness, licentiousness,
20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,
21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
4 And He answered and said to them, Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning made them male and female,
5 and said, For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh?
6 So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has yoked together, let not man separate.
36 Thus says the Lord Jehovah: Because your filthiness was poured out and your nakedness uncovered in your harlotry with your lovers, and with all your abominable idols, and because of the blood of your children which you gave to them,
37 surely, therefore, I will gather all your lovers with whom you took pleasure, all those you loved, and all those you hated; I will gather them from all around against you and will uncover your nakedness to them, that they may see all your nakedness.
8 When you are invited by anyone to a wedding feast, do not sit down in the best place, lest one more honorable than you be invited by him;
21 And they did not repent of their murders nor their sorceries nor their sexual perversions nor their thefts.
1 Rejoice, O barren one, you who have not borne; break forth into screams of delight, you who have not writhed in pangs. For more are the children of the desolate than the children of the one who is married, says Jehovah.
28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself.
29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.
30 For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones.
5 When a man has taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war nor leave for any business; he shall be free at home one year, and bring gladness to his wife whom he has taken.
1 And the man knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain, and said, I have acquired a man from Jehovah.
25 And the man knew his wife again, and she bore a son and called his name: Seth, for God has appointed another seed for me instead of Abel; because Cain killed him.
22 He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from Jehovah.
2 Shulamite: Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth; for your love is better than wine.
22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
23 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.
24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.
3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual perversion;
4 that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor,
5 not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles, who do not know God;
3 Let the husband render to his wife the affection due her, and likewise also the wife to her husband.
4 The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. And likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.
5 Do not deprive one another except by agreement for a time, that you may be free for fasting and prayer; and come together again so that Satan does not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.
13 If any man takes a wife, and goes in to her, and hates her,
14 and charges her with wantonness, and brings a bad name upon her, and says, I took this woman, and when I came to her I found she was not a virgin;
15 then the father and mother of the young woman shall take and bring out the evidence of the young womans virginity to the elders of the city at the gate.
16 And the young womans father shall say to the elders, I have given my daughter to this man as wife, and he hates her.
17 And behold, he has charged her with wantonness, saying, I have found your daughter to not be a virgin, and yet these are the evidences of my daughters virginity. And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city.
18 Let your fountain be blessed, and rejoice with the wife of your youth,
19 as a loving deer and a graceful doe, let her breasts satisfy you at all times, and always be intoxicated in her love.
14 And above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfectness.
36 And there was one, Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was of a great age, and had lived with a husband seven years from her virginity;
29 So is he who goes in to his neighbors wife; whoever touches her shall not be innocent.
9 It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop than to share a house with a contentious woman.
29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life.
4 They said, Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce, and to put her away.
5 And Jesus answered and said to them, Because of the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept.
6 But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female.
7 For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife,
8 and the two shall become one flesh; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh.
9 Therefore what God has yoked together, let not man separate.
24 Therefore a man, leaving his father and mother, and having cleaved to his wife, they are one flesh.
25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
10 I will greatly rejoice in Jehovah, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He has clothed me with the garment of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness like a bridegroom adorns himself with ornaments, and like a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
5 Your two breasts are like two fawns, twins of a gazelle, which feed among the lilies.
9 You have ravished my heart, my sister, my spouse; you have ravished my heart with one look of your eyes, with the pendant around your neck.
28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself.
7 You are all beautiful, my love, and there is no defect in you.
9 A mans heart devises his way, but Jehovah arranges his steps.
29 This is the law of jealousy, when a wife, while under her husband, turns aside and has been defiled;
30 or when the spirit of jealousy comes upon a man, and he becomes jealous of his wife; then he shall make the woman stand before Jehovah, and the priest shall pass all this law upon her.
6 If a man is blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of loose behavior or disobedience.
27 You have heard that it was said to those of old, You shall not commit adultery.
28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
6 Shulamite to Her Beloved: Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm; for love is as strong as death, jealousy as cruel as Sheol; its flames are flames of fire, a flame of YAH.
7 Many waters cannot quench love, nor can the rivers overflow it. If a man would give for love all the wealth of his house, it would be despised with contempt.
14 Return, O backsliding children, says Jehovah; for I am married to you. And I will take you, one from a city, and two from a family; and I will bring you to Zion.
1 Now concerning the things of which you wrote to me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.
2 Nevertheless, because of sexual perversion, let each have his own wife, and let each have her own husband.
32 But I want you to be free from anxiety. He who is unmarried cares for the things of the Lord; how to please the Lord.
33 But he who is married cares about the things of the world; how to please his wife.
34 There is a difference between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman cares about the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit. But she who is married cares about the things of the world; how to please her husband.
4 A woman of strength is a crown to her husband, but she who causes shame is like rottenness in his bones.
7 Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be cut off.
31 For this, a man shall leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife, and the two shall be one flesh.
13 And he shall take a wife in her virginity.
14 A widow or a divorced woman or a defiled woman or a harlot; these he shall not marry; but he shall take a virgin of his own people as wife.
31 For this, a man shall leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife, and the two shall be one flesh.
32 This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
33 Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she reverence her husband.
8 The nakedness of your fathers wife you shall not uncover; it is your fathers nakedness.
20 Moreover you shall not give seed to your neighbors wife through intercourse, to defile yourself with her.
22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
23 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.
18 And Jehovah God said, It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper to complement him.
13 Foods for the stomach and the stomach for foods, but God will destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for sexual perversion but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.
14 And God both raised up the Lord and will also raise us up through His power.
10 The man who commits adultery with another mans wife, he who commits adultery with his neighbors wife, the adulterer and the adulteress, shall be executed to death.
13 If a man lies with a male as one lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall be executed to death. Their blood shall be upon them.
9 Look on life with the wife whom you love all the days of your vain life, which He has given you under the sun, all the days of your vanity. For that is your share in this life, and in your labor which you labor under the sun.
9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be led astray. Neither prostitutes, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor sodomites,
10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.
9 Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor.
10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his companion; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he does not have another to help him up.
11 Again, if two lie together, then they have warmth; but how can one be warm alone?
12 And if one overpowers him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
7 Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be cut off.
10 And He said, I will come back to return to you according to the time of life, and behold, Sarah your wife shall have a son. And Sarah was listening from the tent opening which was behind him.
11 Now Abraham and Sarah were old, well advanced in age; and it had ceased to be after the manner of women with Sarah.
12 Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, Being worn out, shall I be delighted, my lord, having also become old?
10 Who can find a woman of strength? For her value is far above rubies.
2 For true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her sexual perversities; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her.
2 The beginning of the Word of Jehovah by Hosea. And Jehovah said to Hosea, Go, take to yourself a wife of prostitution, and children of prostitution. For the land has committed adultery against Jehovah with great harlotry.
22 He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from Jehovah.
9 Look on life with the wife whom you love all the days of your vain life, which He has given you under the sun, all the days of your vanity. For that is your share in this life, and in your labor which you labor under the sun.
17 You shall not covet your neighbors house; you shall not covet your neighbors wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that belongs to your neighbor.
22 He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from Jehovah.
2 An overseer then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, well ordered, hospitable, able to teach;
12 Let deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.
32 He who commits adultery with a woman lacks heart; he who does so destroys his own soul.
33 Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she reverence her husband.
20 Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and lead astray My servants to prostitute themselves to sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols.
10 When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?
11 She said, No one, Lord. And Jesus said to her, Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.
7 Many waters cannot quench love, nor can the rivers overflow it. If a man would give for love all the wealth of his house, it would be despised with contempt.
24 saying: Teacher, Moses said that if a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise up seed for his brother.
30 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like the angels of God in Heaven.
39 A wife is bound by Law as long as her husband lives; but if her husband dies, she is at liberty to be married to whom she wishes, only in the Lord.
1 Everywhere it is heard that there is sexual perversion among you, and such sexual perversion as is not even named among the Gentiles; that a man has his fathers wife.
2 And you are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he who has done this deed might be removed out from among your midst.
24 Therefore a man, leaving his father and mother, and having cleaved to his wife, they are one flesh.
1 When a man takes a wife and marries her, and it happens that she finds no favor in his eyes because he has found some uncleanness in her, and he writes her a certificate of divorce, puts it in her hand, and sends her out of his house,
15 And has He not made them one? Yet the remnant of the Spirit is in him. And why one? He was seeking a seed of God. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and do not deal treacherously with the wife of your youth.
16 For Jehovah the God of Israel, says that He hates divorce, and to cover violence with ones garment, says Jehovah of Hosts. Therefore take heed to your spirit and do not deal treacherously.
4 Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but prostitutes and adulterers God will judge.
5 and said, For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh?
6 So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has yoked together, let not man separate.
12 And if a woman shall put away her husband and be married to another, she commits adultery.
33 Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she reverence her husband.
4 Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but prostitutes and adulterers God will judge.
14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?
14 You shall not commit adultery.
