20 And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and was moved with compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.
21 And the son said to him, Father, I have sinned against Heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.
22 But the father said to his servants, Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet.
23 And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry;
3 Behold, children are a heritage from Jehovah, the fruit of the womb is a reward.
4 Like arrows in the hand of a mighty man, so are the sons of ones youth.
5 Blessed is the man who has his quiver full of them; they shall not be ashamed, but shall speak with their enemies in the gate.
24 He who withholds the rod hates his son, but he who loves him chastens him promptly.
13 Watch, stand fast in the faith, be like men, be strong.
15 And if it seems evil to you to serve Jehovah, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers have served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my house, we will serve Jehovah.
7 The just walks in his integrity; his children are blessed after him.
24 The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice; and he who begets a wise child shall be glad because of him.
26 In the fear of Jehovah is strong confidence, and His children shall have a place of refuge.
12 Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which Jehovah your God is giving you.
6 Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
